Does replacing the clutch and preasure plate on a 1989 mazda 626 require the engine to be dropped and or removed?
The clutch can be done by unbolting the transmission from the engine after removing the drive shafts, support mounts and linkages and then sliding the transmission to the side resting between the subframe and inner guard. There is not a great deal of room to work with but the job can be done without removing the engine.
