Question about JVC MX-D8T Shelf System

Open Question

Re: JVC MX-D8T When the unit is plugged in, the power light comes on. Nothing else happens, except the cover on the transformer buzzes briefly. All the fuses are intact, and there are no visible shorts on any of the wires or boards. Why won't anything on this work? How can i test this myself, to figure out what is wrong? i'd like to use this as an intro to board level diagnostics. thanks.

Have it first cleaned by a cd disc cleaner or if you are familiar with cleaning the lens manually im sure that will work...or try inserting an original cd's,if it works with that find the solution to the settings of your device...

SOURCE: Power cuts off

This is not a fuse problem. I would suspect that the output amplifier section is getting too hot and shutting down. Check you speaker cables and make sure that they are not shorting out at all. If they are OK, then there is a problem with the amp itself that will require bench time to resolve.
Keep us posted.

SOURCE: JVC mx-d761t fuse

are you talking about the internal fuse? or the fuse in the plug

im assuming that you are talking about the internal fuse
get a standard glass tube fuse at the amperage you know about

i belive it does not matter what type of fuse it is as long as the diamentions are the same its good

I have a goodman gup0753a furnace that is making a loud buzzing sound when it kicks on. I'm pretty sure it is the relay that is next to the transformer. Can I replace just the relay or should I replace...

Is the buzzing happening during the COOLING mode? If so that realy is turning on the fan blower.
You should be able to replace the relay itself. They are generally on a socket and there is realy nothing else mechanical in the box except for the wiring of the unit.

AKAI 32" LCD HDTV WILL NOT TURN ON

The only solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
I service these power supplies, for more info write to jah2mil@hotmail.com

No sound whatever

when you switch the unit on make sure that you hear two clicks, this will tell you whether the protection relay is working. Should you hear the two clicks this will indicate that the audio ic`s are working. There are fuses inside the main component box, four on the transformer. Let me know the outcome
