Question about Lands Phones

My K810i suddenly became very hot. It wasn't near a hot surface or in ant direct heat. I took out the battery, which was very hot. After a while it had cooled down. On replacing the battery and trying to charge it, nothing happened.

Hi,

Chances are that your battery has fried. But before you buy a new one try leaving the battery out of the phone overnight. Then put it back in the phone and plug the charger in. Even if nothing seems to be happening leave it plugged in for a few hours. Sometimes, it takes a bit of time till the charging begins (I have seen this happen on rare occasions). Worth trying before you buy a bew battery.

The red lead wire on the back of the alternator has pulled away from somewhere and I need to know where it attaches to. This is on a 1997 Chevy Cavalier 2.4 engine. When I took the bolt off of the red lead...

That heavy gauge red wire (called a B+ wire) runs from the positive side of the battery directly to the back of the alternator. On yours, if it goes to the starter, the starter main battery terminal would essentially do the same thing. (both connections are always hot and always come directly from the battery). If you meant that it became disconnected when you said "pulled away", you need to find the wire it disconnected from and re-connect it. If it just came out of a loop that was securing it, you don't necessarily need to find the loop but can secure it with a tie wrap, making sure it stays away from the manifold.
You could actually make a new wire and connect it between the battery (+) terminal and the alternator, using the same gauge wire, but I'd be concerned that the loose end coming from the starter could possibly touch something and cause a direct short. At the least, you should find the loose end and cap it off. The battery cannot charge with the wire disconnected.
Anything I've just written that you don't understand, just ask and I'll clarify it for you.

I have a 90 plus Ruud furnace that will work when I light the furnce with a match when the furnace is calling for heat

Sounds like the ignitor. Your unit most likely has a hot surface ignitor. The hot surface ignitor is located in front of your burners and usually has two white wires leading you to it. It is a wear-and-tear item that can be expected to need to be replaced every couple of years or so. It would not hurt to keep a spare near your unit at all times.

HELP NO HEAT

sounds like a gas valve issue. if the hot surface ignitor is glowing red then the next step is for the gas valve to open, if it doesn't then it sounds like the valve, if it does open but only for a few seconds then it is your main burner flame senser.

Upma I have experienced this before and if the phone has been damp by body heat or other moisture then it does do this. try drying it out with a hairdrier on a cool setting. then leave it to dry properly for a couple of days in a warm NOT HOT place. the keypad will start to work and the battery will settle as well. let me know how this goes. t1m0thy

My K810I froze up.

My friend had experienced the same problem with her SEK810i. We both bought the K810i last year. Mine is working perfectly fine. but hers suddenly froze, and she cannot even see the phone menu. we tried to go to a service center but they couldn't fix it. So she just bought a new phone. also fro the SE phone collections.
