Most 2 cycle engines are basically the same. The primer button has two lines coming from it. Gas is actually s.ucked thru the carb and not pushed thru when you prime it. Take a look at the sketch I provided and hopefully you will get yours running again.need gas line sketch for craftsman brush wacker - 58fe8f0.jpg

I had the same problem. I hooked it up the way you mentioned. It causes a siphon reaction. Fuel flowed out of mine when I stopped it also. Have you replaced the diaphram in the carb? If not, that could be the reason it won't start when hooked up the way shown.

I have a Craftsman 31cc trimmer. If I connect as shown in the drawing with fuel inlet on the bottom of carb (opposite needle valves) and return on top (needle valve side), I cannot get it started. If I reverse the two hoses on the carb, the trimmer starts and runs OK. The problem with this configuration is when I shut it off gas drips from the air intake on the carb. Any thoughts?

You can find a complete trimmer head replacement at Hyperparts.com. Go into the Lookup By Application section and select the make and model of your trimmer to see a list of the heads they offer.

32 cc craftsman trimmer starts but will not run at full rpm

Air fuel mixture problem,,,you need to have the filter pulled out and cleaned. Check fuel system for debris and clean, that includes all the fuel lines and possibly disassemble carb and clean and reassemble.

My craftsman 32 cc 2 cycle line trimmer doesn't

Check the line head and cable, there may be grass or something like twine twisted between the shaft and housing. If nothing is found there take the spark plug out and see if it will turn over, possibly liquid gasoline has gotten into the cylinder somehow.

Your gas cap is probably clogged with dirt. The next time you run the trimmer and it begins to stall out, loosen the gas cap, it should start to run good again. Gas cap must be able to breathe in order for gas to flow properly.
