you need to bridge, yes
the other thing you need to do, is right click on the internet connection and say "Allow other computers to connect to the internet via this connection"
this should allow the ps3 to grab an IP address via DHCP

the gaming sever is the issue here.
Also your anti virus firewall and ports for game sharing on other devices needs to be set or corrected.
Ports list for the PS3 should be posted on the gaming site for the PS3.

How to connect 2 computers and a ps3 console to a router box?

it would help if you gave the make and model of your router but easiest way is to connect ps3 via spare ethernet port on your router you have to use a cross wired network cable which you can buy from any good computer shop and to connect pcs your main pc has to be connected to router any other computers easiest way is wireless connection that is assuming you have wireless router.

The internet connection on my laptop is thru a sprint 3g usb mobile broadband device unfortunately tht is my only nternet connection, how can i connect me ps3 with this device

If you have a cross over cable you could connect your PS3 to your Laptop via the Ethernet port and choose internet connection sharing on the 3G device on your laptop, then just make sure the PS3 and the laptop ethernet settings are set to auto detect settings (DHCP).

My ethernet cable dosent fit. can i use a dsl cabel?

Your best option is to buy a new ethernet cable.

They aren't very expensive and you'll know for sure that you have the correct cable.

I want to start net on my ps2 how can i connect it through bluthoot modem

You can't use bluetooth to connect the PS2 to the internet. If you have the old PS2 model you need the ethernet adapter that sits on the back. The PS3 Slim has built-in ethernet.

Also, you can't access the net (surfing etc). You can only use the internet for online games (SOCOM etc).

DNS error when connecting PS3 to internet

you could try getting a wifi adapter and creating an access point, you can connect that way if your ps3 has wifi I have a laptop with windows XP Pro and have been trying that my desktop PC with Vista Home can see it.
MY Components:
-Desktop PC with Vista Home (Main PC, connected to Internet with Ethernet to a Linksys Wireless Router B and G).
-Get internet thru cable TV (broadband),from this cable modem plugs to router and from router to PC Vista(desktop)
-Linksys Wireless G/B Router
-G-Card for my Laptop Windows XP Pro and
-Playstation 3 capable of sharing info and use printer

At the moment all of them have internet w different IP's (000.000.0.001, 000.000.0.002,etc.). What I want to achieve is that I can use the Printer that is connected via USB to my PC Vista (desktop) and share files. Right now the only thing been able to do is that my PC Vista see my Laptop but Can't find my PC on my laptop. Anybody, Help?
-When I turn On my media sharing in my PS3, my internet on Laptop loses it while PS3 search and find, then, because laptop lost wireless, the PS3 looses the laptop and I get wireless back. I knowis a stupid setting but tired of workin back n forth. Thanks

Laptop won't connect to internet

Hi,
Your laptop is missing the driver for Ethernet controller made for Vista.

You should be able to get it from your laptop brand's website.

I could have given a try if you had mentioned your laptop model :)

All the best.
