Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 942 & Vista - Can't Get the All-In-One-Centre to Operate. Any hints?? Thx

    Hello,

    Under Device Manager there are 12 things that start with USB. One is USB Printing Support so I clicked that. Under General is says device is working properly; under Driver it won't let me click on "uninstall". So I am now stuck again.

Make sure usb cable and usb ports of computer working fine.
Go to start menu->control panel->printer and faxes then right click on printer icon click on property then go to Ports tabs and make sure vitual usb port is enable then apply.
If all are fine then you need to uninstall printer driver and usb driver.
For that press windows key + R key so you can see run type in run "devmgmt.msc" then press ok then you can see device manager.Then uninstall all usb drivers then it automatic install usb drivers.
Go to control panel-.add remove programs and uninstall printer driver then if you haven't disk then download driver from below link.

Also download patch/upgarde from above link and install.
Then it will work fine.

  • Make sure you are entered in windows with administrator rights.
    Then when you right click on usb driver in device manager you can see uninstall.
    If you are still not able to uninstall it then go to control panel->add remove programs and remove driver from there.

How do i scan a document?


the 942 printer can scan in 2 ways ,

  • a : from the computer using all in one centre , find it @startàallprogms àdellprinters àand click on aioc (suites xp and vista )

ø U may not see it (aioc ), if the printer driversare not properly installed .
ø when it open , click in scan or preview buttons..as it is self explanatory .
ø if u can open the application but still cannotscan ., then u may have the firewall blocking its communication and may anothersettings in the pc doing it ..please let me know ..
ø replay to me and I will help further .

  • b.: if u want to scan from the printer :

> use the arrowkeys on the printer to change it to scan mode and then press the scan button
> u may prompted to select the comp name …u want to scanto .. and then select the application to be used ..still cannot scan ., then umay have the firewall blocking its communication and may another settings in thepc doing it ..please let me know ..

If you have manufacturer cd. disconnect the printer and run the cd. Connect the printer when instructed. Or go to dell.com to get drivers.

I have a Dell Photo All-in-One printer 942 with a 1203 error msg


that error is a indication that you are using incorrect cartridge or a defective one..please try to replace a compatible one..

All you need to do is go to above link & download & run the upgrade/patch first. It will uninstall the drivers for the printer & thn download & install the drivers.....once the drivers are installd, you will get the aio center.....do let me knw if ny further help is required...

None of them ...... Lexmark cartridges cannot be used in non Lexmark printers.

Printer problem


My printer is stuck in a Photo Mode error. I have uninstalled several times and it will not leave the screen. Is there a way to reset the screen.
