Question about Kodak EasyShare C713 Digital Camera
"Someone" (OK, it was me) left my little Kodak EasyShare C713 out in the hot vehicle for a couple hours and now the LCD screen is jacked up. It looks like there's a black blob across it. I can't see anything in it at all. Is it as "easy" as replacing the LCD screen? If I have a manual, I might be able to do that. I see there are a number of screens for sale on eBay.The camera still take photos fine, it's just the screen!
I've not worked on a C713 before, however I've worked on many Kodak cameras and LCD replacement is one of the easier tasks. Although this is best to have done by a trained technician, many consumers can indeed change the LCD themselves. It requires patience and dexterity as well as extreme care when performing any maintenance on a digital camera. First you want to ensure you are wearing a grounding strap, or are standing on a non-static surface. Once you remove the rear cover screws, carefully remove the rear cover so you can get to the LCD. To unplug the LCD ribbon cable, sometimes an additional metal plate must be removed. You then need to carefully lift the tiny plastic bar that retains the ribbon cable in the connector (these break easily!). Install is the reverse of removal. Hope this helps.
