No, you cannot operate to other frequency coz your unit has a fixed frequency. The power output should be the same,What is that KL1DB?

In the USA the TalkAbout radios operate on FRS (family radio service) frequencies which do not require a license. Not certain of the laws in other countries.

I have a new T5728 talkabout. My friends have T5720. When I bought my T5728, I thought that it would connect to any motorola talkabouts, assuming that we are on the same channel.. However, I was...

Unfortunately the T5728 is not compatible with the US FRS (family radio service) frequencies. The T5728 operates between 409-410MHz. The FRS radios operate between 460-470 MHz. FRS frequencies are license-free frequencies for use in the US, as regulated by the FCC. Other countries have differing rules and thus their frequencies assigned to family usage differ. Best regards, and sorry we could not help.

How to get a Talkabout T5720 to communicate with a

The frequency range and operatngmode of the two radios are compatible. To get the Radius operating on a GMRS channel you'll need a Motorola programming cable and software, OR a trip to a Motorola dealer for frequency programming. Considering the cost involved, the 2-watt output of the Radius, and the 1-watt output of the Talkabout, you would be better off performance and cost wise buying a pair of 5-watt GMRS portables.

Modify a motorola T5500 to work in different frequency

Sorry. The MHz of your radio cannot be changed. And there are no "private" frequencies available for use. However, your radio is equipped with this in mind.

There are 22 frequencies built into the T5500, along with 38 Interference Eliminator Codes. The two combined offer you over 836 choices to avoid other people. And if this is not sufficient, they also have the capability Qt filtering.

SX700 and T5522 talkabouts

Hello Walvis,

Based on a quick web search the Motorola SX700 appears to be a Family Radio Service unit for use in the USA and the Motorola T5522 appears to be PMR446 radio for use in the UK. While the radios are similiar, they don't operate on the same frequencies so they won't be able to communicate with eachother. Because both FRS and PMR446 are very similiar, Motorola often markets versions of the same radio (with slightly different model numbers) for each service.

Best Regards,
Ken

Communications

Hi,

Yes, but depends on the configuration/setup and programming/frequency assignation of the MTS2000.

To my knowledge, the UHF version of the Motorola MTS2000 are designed to operate either in the 403~470Mhz or the 450~512 or 520MHz band.

On the other hand, Motorola TalkAbout Radio are design limited to operate in the FRS band which is 462.5625~462.7250MHZ and/or the GMRS band which is 462.550~467.725.

So technically, both the MTS2000 and the FRS/GMRS share some frequencies. What needs to be done is to re-program the frequency allocation of the MTS2000 into its channels to match the TalkAbouts frequencies. The other way around is not possible. TalkAbouts frequency assignments can not be reprogrammed/changed. Below are typical TalkAbout Channels/Frequencies.de11c4e.jpg

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
