Certain model E-Machines are notorious for blown capacitors. That should always be the first thing to check when dealing with an e-machine, I know it was limited to certain models, but the number of models that were effected by this was quite numerous. and I believe the 2000 series E-Machines were among them in particular. Again depends on the age of the PC.

I just looked up your model and it's dated 2009 era, which is when I experienced A LOT of blown capacitors on emachines. Even some 3000 series motherboards had the issue, as well as some 5000 series.

Again if it's an e-machine first thing to check are the capacitors, next would be the power supply.

The issue of blown caps was caused by the Power Supplies used in certain models of emachines. Not necessarily the PSU's not working, but some design flaw in the PSU's were exploding capacitors on these emachine motherboards.

computer not power on can be caused by 2 thing, first is your power supply was dead, and the second is your motherboard was broken
try to connect another power supply, if your motherboard can power on it mean your power supply was dead if still not power on it mean your motherboard was dead, change the motherboard with new one

EMachine T2824 does not turn on. Power cord/power supply seems O.K.

There are just too many eMachine models to be familiar with every one, however, as a preliminary inspection, remove the side panel, and turn the computer on to see if you see a green "Health" light. This will give you an initial clue as to how to pursue the problem. eMachines have historically had power supply problems. If you do not see a green health light on the motherboard, then your power supply is defective. A power supply supplies various voltages + - 5V, + - 12V ,etc. A power supply can be easily tested by a local shop with the proper test equipment. You might start there if you are a DIY! Short of that, you can purchase a power supply for under $65.00.

My pc won't power on

Sometimes a defective / uder rated power supply is causing this. Defective power supply cannot provide the required load leaving your motherboard on standby mode (led green light) Try and check this first by replacing the power supply . Memory is another cause so if you also have spare you can run tests.
