    hydrochick,

I got surprised why you rate my solution 'Inappropriate'. You know we are giving free solution with our best effort to help you.

This solution was for the LAN card driver asked by a user (ATAPIA) and if you have problem for the same LAN card you can get the driver from the given link.

Anyways its not fair to rate any one's solution in minus rating. If you have any problem just ask me, i will try to suggesst you with my full effort.

    Thanks

    Iqbal

I am sorry, I did not mean to upset you. I am new to all of this. I tried your solution and it did not work on my computer. The software install comes back saying there is no Lan hardware, yet I know there is physically one there.
I just rated it based on it not working for me. It was a great idea and I tried it.

No card writer module connected.

A client of mine had this same problem. The driver seemed to be installed correctly in device manager (start, run, type "devmgmt.msc") press enter. I tried many things to get it to work. Then I downloaded the Windows Vista setup files on the brother site. That fixed the problem. I will post full step by step instructions @ http://rivertownnetworking.com

Hope this helps,

Hi,
Just to make sure im understanding the situation properly - you have a laptop and connect to the internet through a wireless network right? And then when you go to open up internet explorer or whatever program you use it basically says you're not connected to the internet.

It does sound like your wireless card has gone bad but when you say that it still has the icon down the bottom of the screen telling you that you're connected to the network, it sounds like it could be something else. It could be a range of things from there though, there are some viruses that corrupt something called the LSP and when that is broken it has the same symptoms as you described. Also it could just be a setting in your anti-virus. I know that Kaspersky Internet Security suite has a problem with its anti-hacker function that blocks internet from working like that.

Try disabling all of your anti-virus / firewall programs and then accessing the internet. If that works then its only a small problem. If it doesnt work and the icon is still there saying you are connected to the wireless then there is a small program to try running called LSP Fix, available at:

http://cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Other than that i'm out of ideas. Changing the wireless network card in a laptop does sound challenging though.

Hope my mini-essay helps,
Daniel
