Question about Samsung DLP HL-P5663W 56" TV
HI, I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE DLP TV FLICKERING AFTER IT HAS BEEN ON FOR AWHILE (20 MINUTES OR SO). I JUST REPLACED THE BULB SO I KNOW THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM. ALSO SEEMS TO FLICKER MORE WHEN THE SCENE ON THE TV IS A LIGHT SCENE RATHER A DARK ONE. FLICKERING SEEMS TO BE WHITE AND TO RUN HORIZONTALLY ACROSS THE SCREEN IN BLOCKS.
THOUGHTS? THANKS AHEAD OF TIME The picture flickers strongly, like an old-time movie. Most of the color is washed out so the picture is essentially black-and-white with shades of lavender and/or green in places. This all started within just a few minutes. I tried to cycle the power, but the picture never returned at all -- black screen with a blinking green "Lamp" light. When turned off, all three labels in the button blink continuously.
I unplugged the set and plugged it back in. That eliminated the blinking lights, but when I tried to turn it on, it was back to a blinking "Lamp" label and still no picture at all; and turning it off again returned it to the three blinking labels.
The set is an 18-month-old 62" Samsung DLP with an extended warranty from Magnolia (Best Buy). This just happened today, so I have no additional information from Best Buy or Samsung.
How extended is that warranty, and what does it cover? Sounds to me like a classic video controller board about to fail.
