I don't have any experience, per se, with this fine camera, but I have read about some of it's many features. As far as I know, the flash is disabled automatically in the TV and AV modes. Check your manual to verify this. In Manual mode, you would have to turn the flash on, since all of the settings are manually chosen (flash, ISO, shutter, etc.) Another neat feature of this camera is that you can customize menus for shooting, and preselect various functions. If your manual indicates that the flash SHOULD work in those instances, make sure the customized menus aren't kicking in. That's all I can think of, hope this helps solve your issue.

Lots of cameras won't let you turn off the flash in Full Auto mode. Trying changing your camera to Apature Priority ( A, Av) or Shutter Priority (S, Tv) or Manual (M) and see if the option to turn off the flash appears in the menu.

When taking pictures outside the camera over exposes. Could i have pressed a button that would cause this to happen? when taking pictures indoors the camera takes awsome photos still, but when we go...

Sounds like you set either the aperture to a large small number (large aperture) or the shutter speed to a long value. If this is the case, it should be that in AUTO mode, things work fine, but one of C, M, Av or Tv (custom, manual, aperture priority, shutter priority) modes, the aperture or time are set to something that is good for indoors, but outdoors (where the light is brighter) too much light comes in.

It could also be that the ISO ("film" speed) is set too high for bright light. Again, in AUTO mode, the camera takes care of this setting.

Try each of the shooting modes and see which ones work. If Av is the one that is over-exposed, try making the aperture smaller. If Tv, make the shutter time shorter. If M, make both Aperture smaller and shutter time shorter.

I bought my new canon eos 60D..i put on external flsah to use..then after i take off the external flash, my camera's built in flash cannot pop up to take flash even i had press the flash button. How?

Hi, What external flash did you use on your Canon 60D? The internal flash will not automatically pop up if in the "Creative Zone" it will pop up with the button in the creative zones (M, AV, TV and P) it will not pop up with the button if you are in the the full auto mode (that's the little green box mode) but, should pop up automatically if required. The flash should pop up automatically in the basic zone for Portrait, close up and night photography, the button won't activate (pop up) the flash. Also the internal flash will not pop up if there is an accessory in the hot shoe. Again what external flash was it you used and did it flash?

How to change the tv mode. Its on AV mode and i want to change it back to TV mode

Hello
You can set the Game mode and External input mode at the same time by pressing the GAME button on the remote control. "GAME" appears on the TV screen. To exit the the Game mode and the external input mode, press the GAME button on the remote control again. To cancel GAME mode only, adjust the PICTURE control. The game mode will be set ot 'OFF" automatically. In this case "VIDEO" instead of "GAME" appeares on the TV screen. When you press the GAME button if the TV is off, the TV turns ON and will be in the GAME mode and external input mode automatically.

This is most likely a problem with the dial itself. Generally speaking the software within the camera does not fail unless something breaks within the camera. To make absolutely sure - contact the manufacturer and find out if there is an active recall for this product. If it is a manufacturing or software fault they will recall it. Otherwise it will have to be professionally repaired. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
