If the brightness is okay, its the optical block micro mirros that have gone bad. needs a new light engine.

The TV has white dots on the screen when you turn it on. It also has a few black dots. They are all fairly small dots, but a lot of them.

The dots can be caused by your power supply or by one of the sustain boards on your TV. You can get parts from www.interliquidparts.com

I have white dots on the screen of my hsl4266wx/xaa?

If these dots are only seen when the picture is on I would look for the Optical Block to be causing it. Are the dots in the same place each time you turn it on?

Blue dots in center screen after installation of new home theater system

Looks like you may had some unshielded speakers near the back of the unit the caused the color to bleed or fade this is perm damage to one of the guns that shoot the pic to the mirror. There is a fix for it but it may be a costly one.

Yellowing screen off-center - not a convergence issue

You might want to try the optic lens adjustment screw on the side of each crt. Mark them before moving.
