There is no limit switch. Maybe you are trying to drive too low an impedance load [eg, too many speakers at once]

Try shutting the limiter switch off

How to listen thru headphones using a yamaha emx 88 mixer

Did sound for a southern gospel group, using a yorkville powered mixer. Not familiar with your mixer, but, on the Yorkville I had an unused 1/4" line level output with the monitor mix on it. I bought a cigar-sized, 3-channel headphone amplifier / splitter from Radio Shack, called a Boosteroo. Has 1/8" stereo plug that I adapted to the mono output, with a 1/8" stereo to 1/4" mono adaptor. It receives the line level (monitor in our case) signal and supports up to qty 3 - 1/8" plug headphones. Battery operated. No volume control, so I added an inline dial (rheostat) volume control cable. Can't pull up on Radio Shack, now, but, found it available, elsewhere, online. Worked great for me!

Can i run my bose speakers from a powered mixer

You have not mentioned which model of Bose. But anyway simple rule of thumb is make sure your amplifier output power does not exceed the speakers rated power. Speaker power rating can be higher than the amplifier . That way you won't damage the speakers.
Just remember you cannot use a domestic speaker system for a commercial purpose because they are not designed to throw sound over a great distance and cannot generate very high sound pressure levels like professional speakers do. You may not achieve any satisfaction and in return may damage the speakers by turning up the volume very high. Its like trying to race with a domestic car in a formula 1 race !!!!!.Its a loosing battle all the way.

Can I plug just one subwoofer into my Yamaha EMX88S? What kind of sub do I need to get for it? Do I need to have 2 subs plugged in for it to sound right? Do I daisy chain the subs with the A15 speakers I...

it is not reccomended to daisy chain passive subs with main speakers, because there is no crossover unit involved. you want a sub to have a crossover frequency around 100hz, so that only frequencies lower than this go through the subs, and not in the main speakers.

you could get away with 1 sub plugged into the mono output on the front, subs dont have to be stereo. you would need a self popwered sub, or an additional amplifier+crossover for passive subs. your best bet would to be to get a powered sub and hook it up to the front panel mono out. powered subs usually already have the crossover built--in.

Hooking up sound system

The RSQ player goes into the input section of the mixer.
The mixer effect send goes to the Quadraverb input and the output of the Quadraverb goes back to the effect in on the mixer. Now the Main out on the mixer goes to the EQ then the EQ goes to the compressor/limitor to power amp to speakers.

Yamaha 860 st

this could be the pre amp transistor or the power amp , it will need to be tested and other components tested also to make sure they are not causing the pre amp to fail or the power amp to fail
if its the pre amp it will be cheap , if its the power amp then it won't be cheap , other small components are cheap

Make sure your speakers are not the "shielded" type ( aka guitar microphone cable ). Alot of people think there is no difference between a guitar cable and a speaker cable. The speaker cables should be at least 14 gauge with good soldered connections and NOT SHIELDED!

Speaker connections

Not usually. They are generally parallelled inside. But if it's the jack itself and not the amp channel thats broken, you should be able to use it successfully.
