Question about Samsung HP-R4252 42 in. Plasma HDTV

1 Answer

Samsung LN-T4053H LCD Power On problems. When turned on, it sounds like a relay is activating (clicking sound) but it has to retry as many as 8 to 10 times before picture comes on. The number of retries is growing. Is this easily repairable?

If you changed only the bulging capacitors, Try changing some more around those. They might be partially damaged already with out external signs. I replace all the PSU capacitors to solve this problem.

Everytime we turn on our tv, all we hear is a click sound and all you see is a black screen. it wont turn on for 20 minutes and its been getting worse

Hi,

Something is failing, albeit slowly. By hearing only a click does that mean the sound is dead too? Regardless, you most definitely have a hardware issue.

Get it repaired sooner than later. I am happy to assist you further if you are doing this yourself. I don't recommend it if you are inexperienced with electronics and high voltages.

When I turn the TV on it clicks 10-12 times and finally turns on.

Sounds like you have bad capacitors in the power supply. If you look they will have a bulg on the top, replace them and you should be ok.

About how much should I expect to pay to have the power supply board replaced by a tech. or repair shop. Again, the TV is a Samsung LN-T4053H.

The power supply module can be from $179 plus tax and shipping from
http://www.discount-merchant.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=1040332-SAMSUNG&Click=35

The labor can be up to 2 hours. Do you have pictures of the bad power supply and the symptom?
Please post back what you find.
