Question--did you move the gps to a different location on the dash or in the car? GPS units need a clear line of sight this means that things like wiper blades or being to high in your windshield can block the signal off. Best position for a gps is 3- 4 inches above the dash and in your direct line of sight. Be aware though that fog, smog, and other weather patterns as well can interfere with a signal from gps satellites. Hope this helps.

My Garmin Nuvi 3790T will not acquire a satellite signal

Hello,

Does the GPS work outside of the vehicle?
Where is the GPS mounted?
If the GPS is under the dash, mounting it up on top of the dash will help.
If the Vauxhall has a windshield with a reflective metallic coating or treatment in the glass, this may result in poor GPS satellite reception.

GPS Garmin 1450 poor satelittle signal- can't find satelittloes

If the Garmin nuvi 1450 could find satellites at the same location and time before there's something wrong with the built-in receiver / antenna. Because it's not accessible from the outside it needs to be opened to check the antenna connections. Best is to check battery at the same time and replace it - once the problem is fixed.

At some locations there can be poor GPS sat reception - due to line of sight obstructions, such as trees, buildings. For a 2D fix it needs to "see" at least 3 satellites signals.

Nuvi 200w will not pick up sattalites

Make sure you are outside and as much in the open as possible. Staying stationary is the best way to insure a satellite signal. Give your GPS a few minutes if necessary to pick up a satellite signal. Also remember poor weather can effect a satellite signal reaching your GPS, just like it will satellite TV.

Poor gps

My friend, this is the first time I have seen your question. Please understand, the people on this side of the counter are not employees of FixYa.com. We are a gaggle of volunteers working from our homes and offices, for free. I have never actually seen another volunteer worker associated with this web site.

I say all that to explain I don't have any history on your question...

If your GPS says you are in a building ... it is being nice when it says that. It is redally telling you it has no, little or poor signal reception. You can be outside and still not have a clear view of the sky. Your GPS wants a unobstructed view to find the signals from above. Other buildings, trees, etc. in the area can prevent this view.

If you are out in a field, for example, and it still tells you this - you should be asking Tomtom what to do. There is probably something they can do to help your signal reception. You could have a antenna or battery issue.

Loses GPS signal and never reconects. I can be driving along and it loses signal and fails to to regain even if I switch off and on again Aparantly it is poor gps conection so wont connect but this happens...

A few things that cause drop out.

Poor vicinity for a strong signal
A low battery ***** must be fully charged The DC is only maintenance charging and eventually goes flat.
A damaged SIIRF CHIP caused by starting the engine whilst the GPS is plugged in.
A failked fuse to keep battery charged for maintenance in the DC charge unit.

Try recharging battery( or replacing it if 2 years or more of age)

Poor gps reception on tom tom one

my tom tom one third edition connects in less than 40 seconds from ca cold start.
first reset everything then connect it to your computer and upload all the needed updates to it( especially the QUICKGPSFIX feature that speeds up the time it takes to connect to satellites.
after that. go outside and wait for the signal to be acquired ( less than 2 minutes)

No gps signal

Is the Flip-Up antenna UP? Can the unit 'see' the Sky? - Most only work near the front windshield.poorly everywhere else in the car. The layers of car metal blocks or attenuates (cuts down/reduces) the satellite signals. Also, there might be a MENU option to enable/disable GPS. If you get no joy, could be the connection to the antenna is bad/broken. If all else fails, look for a tiny hole somewhere on the outside of the case and press into it gently with apaperclip. Good Luck
