Question about Washing Machines
This could be some form of a silt type substance. I would recommend a sediment pre-filter in front of the GE System. Possibly a Rusco Spin Down Filter System. This is a clear housing and a mesh filter that is washable. You would want to use a 250mesh filter.

Do you use liquid soap or fabric softner,if so change to small amount of powder.try filling the machine with really hot water and let it soak for an hour or so.hope this helps.
