Beings you can get to the solenoid I would check it first. There is a small post (not battery or starter), touch a jumper wire from battery to this post. Then with a test light check the wire to that post w/key in start position (remember you must be in regular start condition for this test). If no light, you can only go to each switch one at a time and bypass then try to start again. Not sure how many there are.

John Deere LT133 not starting

This is a common problem. The saftey interlocks are most likely keeping the tractor from completing the starter circuit. See the attached diagrams for curcuiit.

If off tracter ther park brake set switch must be closed along with thwe PTO off switch closed.

42" Troy Bilt zero turn PTO switch

I would first look under the machine, check the wires leading to the pto clutch. There should be a connector/plug, make sure it is clean and plugged in completely. Also, check the wire harness grounds to the frame. Otherwise, you'll have to check the switch, power going to the switch etc. Usually, they are wired thru the safety switch harness so, could be a bad saftey switch, or bad pto switch. You'll just have to start testing wiring.

TURN KEY WON'T START BYPASS SELINOID IT

There are a few things it could be. You need to do a check of the coil, safety switches and the ignition switch. You can check the starting solinoid (coil) by jumping from the hot terminal on the main contacts to the terminal that gets its power from the ignition switch (caution, do not go to the ground terminal if it is a four wire solinoid) . If it turns the engine, then you need to check the ignition switch. This is easier with an electrical multimeter. Remember to check the safeties. I have observed that the seat safety switch is the most common electrical component to fail.

I hope this helps.

Ignition switch will not engage starter solinoid ,will engage if bypassed

Hi;
Oh these problems are fun. First off,,,,if you have a defective, clutch/brake switch, pto switch, or seat switch,,,,,you will have the problem your having.
First, apply your 12 volts to the tab on the solinoid from ignition switch, it should click. If not, solinoid is defective.
If solinoid is ok, your just going to be in a process of elimation. If you have your electrical diagrams for the unit, it will help. You can also try to replace the ignition switch. there about 15 bucks.
Not much help was I? good luck
