I turn the tv on and fuzzy static screen somes on. The tv wont do anything. Does not respond to any buttons. It tehn turns off after about 30 seconds and the green light next to the power button starts blinking. Then goes out after about 30 seconds. I tried resetting it and unplugging it. same thing. Started after the cox cable guy came to fix our weak signal problem. We were not getting some hd channels.
Repair man came out here. swapped out the DM and still didnt work. So after checking a few voltages(standby...etc) he came to the conclusion that the E2P PCB is at fault. but may still need the DM. For the Dm he was going to charge me like $500 total. Now he is charging me about $255. he charged me 140 for service call and 225(labor including cleaning and basic calib.) plus $30 parts. The 140 goes towards the repair bill which ends up to $255 coming out of my pocket...does that sound reasonable???

Re: blinking light mitsu ws-55515 rptv
If the set is shutting down it should blink a code. Try pushing in the menu and input buttons on the set both at the same time and hold them in for 8 seconds to see if the self diagnosis will falsh a two digit code. Let me know what happens
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

This unit s common problem is a fluid leak on the chasey from one or more of the tubes it leaks on the chasey maybe only one or two drops but after a period of time it causes a corrosion on the chasey and things like this happen you have to get a lamp or flash light and look in the tv to see if this is happening be surre to unplug tv
Resetting the TV If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:
NOTE: Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time. 1.Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet. 2.Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...) 3.Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds. 4.Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV. 5.Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again. 6.Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices. 7.Turn on the TV.
If ever resetting is no effect then the problem is in the "DM board" The constant blinking green light means that the TV is not booting up. This is a common problem on this set.
Hope it may help you;
You will need to reset the Netcommand and tuner settings in the set. The little indented button in the front of the set needs to be pushed in (when the set is off). The front light will blink for about a minute or minute and a half. Then, reprogram the Netcommand settings. This should solve your problem. If you need more information, then, reply to this post and I will respond.
First check set for problems by:This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. Self-diagnosis error 2-3 indicating deflection failure. Check for shorted or leaky Q5A37 part # 260P818050 located on PCB-Main. If found defective replace only the transistor instead of the Main PCB.
