My cabrio will not spin or complete a wash cycle. Acts like iit's unbalanced even when empty. Keep getting an F51 error code

it is most likely a bad center bearing. Was it loud when it sup last? If it was then the bearings are going bad. If not spin the tub by hand and see if its stuck if it is work it back and forth and see if you can break it free. That is still a bad bearing. Also try spinning the basket by hand as fast as you can and see if the bearing sound like they are grinding or smooth. If the bearing seem ok then push down on the tub ring and try to push the tub and basket down it should take quite a bit a pressure to push the tub down is its easy and you can bounce the tub up and down it the washer like a basket ball then you need new support rod they keep the tub stable during spin and when the springs on these go bad they allow the tub to bounce during spin and that causes the unit to go out of balance and stops spinning.

In last few weeks, having trouble with the spin cycle being unbalanced. Have leveled machine and no help

Hello. From what you are describing, there might be a problem with the suspension rods being worn out. The part number for those rods(you will need to purchase 4 of them if even one is worn out) is DC97-16350E. You can check the viability of the rods by following this:
Open the lid of the washer. Place your hands on each side of the tub ring(the round plastic part just above the spin basket where the clothes are placed). Next, smartly shove down on the tub ring and release it. The tub/basket assembly should grip going down and pull coming up--(no bouncy, hobby horse wiggly movement at all). The suspension rods act just like automobile shock absorbers. When you push down on a corner of a car, it should come up and immediately settle with no bounce. I've seen washers have worn out rods after less than a year--remember, 3/4 full is a full load on the HE top load units. That's about 4 inches from the ring mounted at the top of the basket, (filled with a heavy fluid for stability). That's what you hear sloshing around(not water). I hope I helped you!

GE adora front load makes loud rattling sound in spin cycle. nothing in drum. sounds like a ball bearing

its the inner baskets bearings behind this basket as water gets past the rear seal into these bearings and ruins them, you need to dismantle the entire unit to remove the inner basket from the outer tub to replace these bearings

Tub on a Maytag washer bounces out of control on spin cycle

Sounds like your tub has a broken spring under it. They are difficult to replace. Buy a washer from somebody moving for 150 to 200 bucks and call it a day.

Tub filled with water, Lr code

To pump out the excess tub water while failing to complete spin cycle;

Enter Service Mode by simultaneously pressing and holding the Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or the display reads “00”

Pressing the Delicates key will lock the lid. Now press the Presoak key the drain pump will turn on. Stop with off button or hit the Presoak key.

This process is documented in the Service Manual. I would go to page 16 of the SM lower right hand part of page, Board Output Test and turn on the drain pump in service mode to pump out the tub.

If I could ask you to do a little troubleshooting;

It sounds like the wash/agitate cycle completes and you enter into the spin cycle of the selected wash cycle is that correct. When the wash cycle fails does the Cycle Status LED indicate that the washer is in the Spin cycle?

With a empty wash basket no wash load in the basket and you start a Spin Only cycle will the Spin Only cycle complete?

If the washer will start the cycle do you hear and loud Spin Only cycle noise such as metal against metal grinding noise?

With the washer off and no clothes in the wash basket can you open the lid then Spin the wash basket as fast as you can in the CCW direction the only direction. The wash basket should spin CCW several rotations and coast down to a smooth stop dose it?

I’m checking for Outer Tub increased bearing resistance…..Rich

FAV6800AWW is very loud in the spin cycle only, the basket does move freely and the belt is in good condition. the noise does not seem to be from the clutch,

Derek,
What are the first two digits of you serial number of you FAV6800A or FAV9800A? It will digits 10, 11, 12,thru 17.

In spin Cycle the Wash Basket rotates in the Outer Tub bearings in the CCW direction. I1f you spin the wash basket CCW by hand as fast as you can the Wash Basket should cost several revolutions to a gentle stop. Does it?

Do you hear and bearing noise/grinding sounds as the wash basket coast to a stop? If so I would drop the clutch out and inspect for traces of a Tub Seal leak.

My Clutch Fix will help you disassemble and let me know if can help. I have …….Rich

I have a zanussi washer/dryer but lately its making so much noise !! its driving me nuts please tell me what it could be ?? thanks

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If your washer is a front load washer then check these things if it is making noise--
Bellows
The bellows is a rubber sleeve that seals the suspended outer tub to the stationary cabinet front at the tub opening. Its purpose is to provide a water tight opening into the tub that can be sealed by the cabinet door, yet allow flexibility for the oscillation of the tub during the wash and spin cycles.
Outer Tub Assembly
The outer tub assembly is supported by two suspension springs and stabilized by two air shock assemblies. A cement counter weight is mounted to the front of the outer tub by screws. A counterweight is molded into the rear half of the outer tub. These counterweights prevent excessive oscillation of the entire suspended assembly during an unbalanced spin cycle.
Spin Basket Assembly
The spin basket is constructed of stainless steel. The circumference of the basket is perforated to allow water to flow through it as it revolves. A heavy steel shaft is pressed into the spin basket support which is then bolted to the basket. The spin basket assembly is entirely supported by two ball bearings pressed into the rear of the outer tub. A large drive pulley is mounted to the free end of the shaft that extends through the rear of the outer tub. There are three plastic vanes mounted to the spin basket to aid in the washing action during the wash cycle. The rotation of the spin basket provides both the washing action during the wash cycle, and water extraction during the spin cycle.

High pitch "jet engine" noise--A certain amount of motor whine is normal during the spin cycle.

Rattling and clanking noise--
• Foreign objects such as coins or safety pins may be in drum or pump. Stop washer and check drum. If noise continues after washer is restarted, objects may be in pump.
• Belt buckles and metal fasteners are hitting wash drum. To prevent unnecessary noise and damage to drum, fasten fasteners and turn items inside out.

Squealing sound or hot rubber odor-- Washer is overloaded. Do not overload washer. Stop washer and reduce load.

Thumping sound— Heavy wash loads may produce a thumping sound. This is usually normal. If sound continues, washer is probably out of balance. Stop washer and redistribute wash load.

Vibrating noise--
• Washer is not resting firmly on floor. Move washer so it rests firmly on floor. Adjust leveling legs. NOTE: Some shaking of the washer is normal without moving across the floor. See INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS for details.
• Shipping bolts and foam blocks have not been removed during installation. See INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS for removing shipping bolts and foam blocks.
• Wash load unevenly distributed in drum. Stop washer and rearrange wash load.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee
