  • kgilbert38 Apr 27, 2010

I am at work right now, but will have my husband try this tonight. Are there directions on how to put the washer in standby mode?

  • kgilbert38 Apr 27, 2010

I don't know if you received my previous email, but I will have my husband try this tonight.

    Thank you

  • kgilbert38 Apr 27, 2010

I will let you know if this works...Thank you!

  • kgilbert38 Apr 27, 2010

Okay...got it, I'll get back to you tomorrow.

  • kgilbert38 Apr 28, 2010

My husband tried your suggestion and no codes came up on the console. The start button constantly blinks.

  • kgilbert38 Apr 28, 2010

It said to replace the console, which we just replaced a few months ago because we were getting an F1 error code. Any other suggestions?

  • kgilbert38 Apr 29, 2010

Thank you, I see that there are a lot of problems with this Cabrio and Whirlpool doesn't seem to want to stand by their product. Thank you for your help and have a great day!

  • kgilbert38 Apr 30, 2010

I'm sure we are going to have to replace the console again!! I did google this and can see everyone is having the same problems. I also emailed whirlpool, but I had emailed them before and never heard anything back. Thank you for your help and have a great weekend.

Entering the diagnostic mode, if applicable to your washer, and performing the necessary tests can determine the cause of the problem. Please indicate the exact model number of the washer for a specific troubleshooting and repair advice. More information provided makes the troubleshooting fast and accurate.

Activate the console and indicators diagnostic mode to check the
functionality of the console buttons. Put the washer in standby mode
then within 4 seconds press the following button sequence: SOIL LEVEL ---> WASH/RINSE TEMP ---> SOIL LEVEL ---> WASH/RINSE TEMP.

A two-digit "dt" will display for 5 seconds if the entry to the console
and indicators diagnostic mode is successful. Press the START button
within 5 second of "dt" showing in the display. It should turn on all
indicator lights while "88" is displayed; otherwise the console is
    faulty and needs replacement.

Press again the START button if pressing it above worked as described.
This will turn off the status indicators and the two-digit display.
Press the START button for the third time to turn on the status
    indicators and the two-digit display.

Rotate the WASH CYCLE selector back and forth; it will toggle the cycle
indicators on or off. Press the button one a time to verify the
functionality. The indicators will toggle on or off and a beep will
sound each time a button is pressed to indicate the button is working
and the user interface board is good. Press the STOP or POWER button at
any time to exit console and indicators test mode.

You can also check the major washer functions and view saved fault
codes by entering the automatic diagnostic test mode. The recent fault
code may indicate the cause of the problem. The washer must be in
standby mode when entering the diagnostic service mode.

Select a button, except START, STOP, or POWER, and using the same
button, follow these steps: press/hold for 3 seconds ---> release
    for 3 seconds ---> press/hold for 3 seconds ---> release for 3
    seconds ---> press/hold for 3 seconds.

All indicators on the console will light up for 5 seconds with "88"
showing in the display if the test mode has been entered successfully.
The program then checks for any saved fault codes. If there is no fault
code saved, all indicators on the console will momentarily turn off,
and then turn back on with "88" displayed and the automatic diagnostic
test will begin after 5 seconds. You may open the lid to check and
observe the operation of the washer.

Press the same button used above in entering the automatic diagnostic
test mode to manually advance through automatic test steps but step C1
must be allowed to complete before advancing to the next step. Press
START or POWER anytime to exit.

Note: Select another button if the entry to the automatic diagnostic is
unsuccessful and let us know if it cannot be activated after several
attempts. Let us also know any fault code saved.

Simply unplug the washer for a couple of minutes and plug it back to put it to standby mode. Please accept and rate solution accordingly. Feel free to update us and ask for further questions if necessary.

The diagnostic test guide is not intended to fix the problem but rather to determine what is the possible cause of the problem for the necessary action to be undertaken.

Sorry for the delayed response due time zone constraints. Are both console and indicators diagnostic test and the service diagnostic test done successfully without a single fault code appearing?

  • Jahn27
    Jahn27 Apr 29, 2010

Check the connection between the console the machine control and make sure it is good and snug fit. Perform a manual diagnostic test to check the lid lock mechanism and the console electronics.

Select a button, except START, STOP, or POWER, and using the same
button, follow these steps: press/hold for 3 seconds ---> release
    for 3 seconds ---> press/hold for 3 seconds ---> release for 3
    seconds ---> press/hold for 3 seconds.

All indicators on the console will light up for 5 seconds with "88"
showing in the display if the test mode has been entered successfully. Press the same button once again during the 5 seconds display time of the "88". Failure to press the said button in the given time will start the automatic diagnostic test.

A single beep sounds if the entry is successful and the two-digit display shows the console identification number for 3 seconds then displays "00" and the Add a Garment indicator LED flashes.

It is sad to say but you have to replace the console electronics if the entry of the manual diagnostics is successful but the console ID number is not displayed.

The lid must be closed to perform the manual lid test. Press and release the 2nd Rinse or the Extra Rinse ; the lid locks and the lid lock indicator turns on. Open the lid to verify if it actually locked. Press and release the same button again then the door unlocks and the lid lock indicator turns off. Open the lid to verify if it is actually unlocked.

If it turns out from the test that the lid lock is faulty, check the lid lock connection and make sure it is good and snug fit. With the lid lock wiring disconnected from the machine control and the terminals labeled 1 to 7 from top to bottom, check the resistance of the lid lock motor winding and the switches.

The lid lock motor winding resistance , normally 30 ohms to 40 oms, is measured between pins 2 and 3. With the lid locked, pins 1 and 7, and pins 1 and 5 are close while pins 1and 4 is open. With the lid unlocked, pins 1 and 7, and pins 1 and 5 are open while pins 1and 4 is close.

Replace the machine/motor control board if the manual lid test in the previous post has failed but correct readings are found above.

Perform an isolation troubleshooting if you are still in doubt regarding the source of the problem. Disconnect all components from the control board except the console to check if the blinking of the Start button stops. If it doesn't stop, it is pretty sure either the console electronics or the machine control board is bad. If it stops, unplug the washer then connect one of the disconnected components and plug the washer back. Do this with the other components until the component that makes the Start button blink is found.

How can i turn off the key lock without a remote control

Depends on the TV. Most flat panels require that you hold the POWER button for about 10 seconds to unlock the rest of the panel buttons on the TV.
Other TV's may require the same procedure, but just with a different button. If holding POWER doesn't work, try the other buttons on the TV.
All else failing, try unplugging it overnight.

We unplugged our Bunn and left it unplugged overnight to do some painting. When we plugged it back in the light doesn't come on the warmer and the water does not heat.

The unit is not getting power. If the receptacle is protected by a GFI, then press the Reset button. Otherwise, check that the circuit breaker (or fuse) to that receptacle isn't tripped.

So when i turn on my sharp hd it turns off then the opc light comes on! Then the power light and opc light keep flashing!! Alls i want 4 it to work? Plz help

The television has gone into a coma. It is going to need to be serviced or replaced. The blinking code is a pattern. If you look at the power light and the opc light separately and independently, you can acquire the blinking pattern. Cover opc and look at power only. Note how many times it is blinking before it pauses. It might just blink steadily. Next cover power and look at opc alone. Note how many times it blinks before it pauses.

Depending on which model you have it might work if you leave the television unplugged overnight. The next day plug the television back in and wait for the blinking to start. Hold down the power button on the side of the television until the light stops blinking and turns red (usually right away). Let go. Press and release the power button once more and the light should turn orangish and then green. The television should turn on.

You can call Sharp and have a case file created and try and INIT with the customer service representative.
