that sounds like a FTA unit? there are tons of free download bins for the factory reset of the fta reciver there are no longer easy bins to revive or to hack the unit to receive pay TV because they all have switched to what is called the N3 system and that has not been hacked yet but there are tons of pay sites online for thease bins BUT Not the N# BINS At least not yet that I am aware of!!!!?? You may wish to clear the remote's memory before starting. Slide the top left switch to "Learn." Press ANY button on the remote, do not worry if the indicator light flashes. Press the "Program Clear" button. The indicator should flash 4 (maybe 5?) times. You are now ready to program. Make sure the switch is in the "Learn" position. Place the rm-p311 and the remote you want to program in about 2 cm apart facing each other. Push the button you wish to program on the rm-p311. The indicator light should come on with a slight delay. Press and hold the button on the other remote until the indicator light goes out. Put the slider back to "User" mode and test it! For more info., go to sony's support site and search for the user manual for the STR-AV1070 receiver. It contains instructions for the remote.
Your reception would be much improved by using a free to air digital set top box - only about £20. If you are in east London especially near docklands channel 5 reception with a conventional aerial gives a lot of problems. sv-9140-00-002 is an interior aerial booster - I doubt whether this will improve things much. Best solution is a good outside aerial - if you live in flats is there no communal aerial available?
