Question about Gateway M-1625 Notebook
I would call gateway IT support. When I had this problem with my Toshiba, I was told by my IT Support Tech that I must have corrupted my windows vista files. He walked me through the process to restore my computer to an earlier point (the state the computers in when I took it out of the computer box). I did lose all data, yet I did have a $199 remote harddrive with prior information saved from a while back...so I didn't lose all my data. I would encourage anyone to backup your files on another drive incase something bad happens....Trouble losing all your files, music, photos, videos, downloads, etc.
Anyway, back to what I was saying. Turn off computer. Go to F8. Hold down the F8 button while turning on your computer. Continue to hold F8 button until you get a screen. You want to repair computer to restore point (mind was Toshiba recovery wizard). MAKE SURE you have nothing plugged into you laptop beyond the powercord. I selected buttons that walked me though to restore to manufactors' point. It takes about 4 hours to complete. I still had all my defaulted programs (windows, norton, web cam, skpe, etc) that came with my laptop when I first purchased it. I just had to reinstalled my printer and all other software I purchased separate from my laptop. I had to re-enter the norton product key code for my norton security program and the microsoft office suite product key. I then copied my files from my $199 hard drive onto my laptop. My computer is up and running as normal with a seemly better performance. Good luck Missjay108

Remove Battery. Wait 30 seconds, then place back in unit and see if this allows it to power on.
