Hi everyone,
I have a Swann system and all of a sudden when you turn on the machine it shows master HDD detected then Shows DMA Error and starts beeping.
The files on the hard drive have been recovered by a data recovery company but they cannot play. They cannot copy them to another Hard drive and dimply slot it in because the DVR has its own format method.
Is there any way to play the files on the DVR Hard Drive on a PC?
Is there any way to fix the DMA error?
Thanks in advance.

The dreaded "File System Corrupted" error is one that comes time and time again. Did you drop the player or hit it by accident? If so, then the pin connecting the battery to the micro hard drive has probably been disconnected. You can removed the back of the player with a screwdriver, but you risk tearing off the S/N sticker. If you decided to do it anyway, remove the back of the player and then simply fit the multi-pin connector back into the hard drive. Replace the back and screw it in, and then turn it on to see if it works. I did this with my old RD2762A, and it worked like a charm. Hope this helps!

For this you will have to transfer the particular video into ur pc.. Then you can edit the video like how ever you want. you can usw sony vegas software for this.

usually hard drive failure boils down to files not opening succesfully, or a random internal failure, not a physical issue with the hard drive, however because dish network repairs these issues on a large scale the fix is to wipe the software and start over which means all recordings are lost, unfortunately recovering these recordings is basically impossible... if you often record things which are imperative to your business i would suggest getting a 622/722 dvr which will allow you to download these recordings to an external hard drive via usb, you will have unlimited use uploading and downloading programs for a one time fee of about 40$

Hi guys,
Have you tried to format drive? try to do slow format on the FAT32, and when you put the drive into camcorder should work fine. Also make sure if you have got just one partition isntead of for example 2 or more.
