Printer will not print, power is o. Deleted spool a few times. Replaced black cartridge. Think the problem might be a low color cartridge even though I have it set to just use black cartridge. No flashing lights, Have powered doen printer and PC more than once.

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head. http://en.kioskea.net/forum/affich-40171-printer-not-printing-black
hello, some of the time the color ink cartridge can cause the problem, especially if its a refilled ink, but at same time, i do know some of the new inks right out of the box will fail. so try with a new color cartridge first.
You can use refilled cartridges for your printer just make sure they are of good quality. You can only refill cartridges a few times before the printhead on the cartridge no longer works. The problem you are having does not have to do with the cartridge, it is probably an issue with the information being spooled from your computer to your printer. Depending on the amount of information on your document, the memory is hesitating before in can download more and continues to print.
First try a "hard restart", which simply means unplugging the power cord of the printer, then replugging it after a few seconds have passed. If that does not work, then rerun the CD used to install the printer.
Also, by typing " ONLINE LANGUAGE TRANSLATION" into the Google searchbox, you will have your choice of several websites which translate Spanish into English for free. PIck a website which translates whole paragraphs at a time, rather than a website which only translates a few words at a time. I have personally found that some websites are easier to use than others, so it pays to shop around.
Hope these suggestions help you out.
Fix ink cartridge I had same problem. I must have ran the clean cycle more than 30-50 times over a period of days. That never made any difference. I was about to toss the whole thing but figured I would try one more thing. If it didn't work I would be in no worse shape. Here is what I did. Took an almost empty black cartridge and inject a lot of 100% Acetone to dilute ink. Left some black in it since I didn't want to think it was empty. Inserted this cartridge and ran the cleaning a few time. IT WORKED. I used my word processor program and filled a page with large bold font characters and printed a page or two. Each page cleared more nozzles. After doing this cleaning/printing a number of time, I put in the full good cartridge. Ran the cleaning a few time to eject any of the Acetone diluted ink. Ran the printed page a few time to remove more of the diluted ink. Everything seems to work now.
try to install again but this time make sure you follow the manual especially on step 5,6 and 7
I list down again the step from the manual
Load the new roll of print ribbon on the cartridge.
? Put the full spool of ribbon on the supply spindle
of the ribbon cartridge. Push until the spool
clicks onto the spindle.
? Put the empty take-up spool on the spindle with
the solid black gear. Push until the spool clicks
onto the spindle.
Replace the loaded ribbon cartridge in the printer.
? Make sure both spindles rest in the black
supports on the left side of the printer.
? Make sure the ribbon cartridge handle rests in
the supports on the right side of the printer.
? Make sure to install the full, new spool toward
the card tray of the printer.
Close the printer cover. Press down firmly to latch it.
