Do you reccomend I order the part before performing the rest of the instructions?

  • rucketeer Apr 28, 2010

    So...

I did this and the buzzer and compressor came on when the test button was pressed. the buzzer did not turn off. after about 15 min of this i unpluged it and plugged it back in again. the buzzing stopped the compressor came on, but i noticed that the compressor still never engaged on its own later.....

Also, during the test the panel read FF on the freezer side and the fridge temp on that side.

The compressor relay fails to reactivate due to a faulty MICOM IC or a failed sensor. An open sensor makes the MICOM "think" that there's an extremely low temperature and will send power to the relay to activate it. Perform the forced operation when the compressor turns off to check if it can be activated.

Disconnect power to the appliance and remove the screws securing the compartment cover to the rear bottom access panel then slide it up and take it off.

Facing the rear of the refrigerator, remove the cover of the electric box located to the right side of the compartment. With the cover removed, reconnect power to the refrigerator to run the compressor and when it stops, carefully press the test button on the control board located below the capacitor on the left of the heat sink. The buzzer will sound to indicate the forced running is activated and the compressor will run.

Replace the control board (part number DA41-00128D) if the compressor doesn't run during the forced running activation. it is recommended to include replacing the sensors as a preventive measure.

The problem is not within the control board but in any of the freezer and refrigerator sensor. Replace both sensors in the freezer and refrigerator compartments including the defrost sensors.

The freezer sensors are located on the freezer evaporator with part numbers DA47-00095E and DA32-00006W while the refrigerator sensors are located on the refrigerator evaporator and evaporator cover with part numbers DA32-00006W, DA47-00095E, and DA32-10105T.

Why does my upright freezer runs then kicks off, runs then kicks off?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand your Frigidaire freezer runs for a short time and then kicks off. Then it turns on with a click and repeats its cycle. This is how your freezer functions. When it needs to cool, the compressor will kick on and cool until the temperature is reached. Then it will kick off until it needs to cool again. It's possibly due to the hot and humid summer that it is cycling on and of more. I hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.

Wireing

Temp fan failure could be the thermo temperature sensor. I am not sure of the actual name of it but if you can direct wire your fan and it works, then the fan is good, the sensor is bad. I myself have rewired a switch to them so I can control when and how long the electric fan runs.

You say temp fan?If you mean the cooling fans, then the ac is out of freon most likely, the freon has to be in the system, and enough to kick the compressor on,therefore turning the cooling fan on.

Air conditioner clutch will not engage. also my car has auto climate control and the external temp. light always reads 30 degrees.

That is why the A/C clutch is not coming on.If the temp is below 50 degrees the auto control will not allow the compressor to kick in to protect the compressor. You have to check the codes for the body control module. It should show a code for the outside temp sensor. You could have a bad sensor or wiring. If you disconnect it it should show -40 degrees.check wiring and connections.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Oven fails to reach correct operating temperature. Set at 400 = actual 300 temp. Temp probe is clean.

Clean and working correctly are 2 different things.
Unplug the range. Remove the temp sensor. Use a meter set for ohms and read 1050 to 1150 ohms at room temperature.
If it reads OK replace the electronic control. If it reads bad replace the temp sensor.

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH COMPRESSOR NOT KICKING ON

Actually you should check also the thermostat control, if you know how to ypass the thermostat control then do it just to check if your compressor running smoothly, well it should be since it was newly replaced,

well if runs, then your problem is your thermostat, but if not then check your supply current if it is stable or under voltage, if it is fluctuating then better yet put a UPS (un interupted power supply) or AVR (auto voltage regulator for your sensitive appliances cause it might also affect other appliances.

If your electric current is stable, then check the controls of your refrigerator, if it is electronic then try to test it with the service center but if it is manual then try to put starting capacitor for your compressor, it might be hard starting,

hope this will help

What year is the vehicle ? The A/C button on the control panel is a direct input to the PCM /ECM - engine computer . The PCM/ECM energizes the compressor clutch relay to engage the compressor .
