Question about Samsung SP55W3HF 55" Television

1 Answer

I have a Samsung SP55W3HF and have no sound. The tv works and after a while a burning smell appears that is coming from an internal circut. The tv sound works through my amplifier though.

Convergence issue, Unable to adjust through remote control the Blue cross sections do not move at all suspect problem could be a PCB, checked all internal connections etc

Hi jasonmonika ,

Try turning off your Tv for a couple of minutes with the power cable plugged off. plug it all back in and see.

if that does not work, then i would suggest for you to call the service center for you TV and ask them to help resolve your issue. Usually the suggestions would be to check all internal connections but i see you already have.

this is all i can recommend, i hope this helps.

I have everything hooked up correctly and cleanly, but when i turn my truck on the blue light flashes on then off and my subs do nothing. I don't know if its shorting out or what is going on.

sounds like a loose ground, or a loose positive cable or possibly a blow inline fuse, and the only power your unit is getting is from the remote. triple check all your connections. use your senses, smell the amp, smell for a burned order, this usually identifies if it is something internal. but it sounds like in your case (from experience with) a bad ground. If your gound or positive is connected but not tight it may be enough to power the remote circut, but not good enough to handle the actual turn on (Click) of the circut. powering the led light usually takes about .5 amps, but powering the turn on switch usually takes anywhere from .5 to 20 amps, then the inital charging of the capacitors that are internal on every amplifier... that quick charge pulls a decent amount of curren fast (usually the first 2-3 seconds) to fully charge a small amplifer after it has clicked on. hopes this helps

I have a Samsung SP-55W3HF and today a blue shadow starts to appear on the TV. What is the problem with the TV. Has something get broken?

It sounds like a convergence issue. Are you able to try the convergence built into the tv? If that doesn't work you will need to have a professional come out and align the color guns. Also it is always possible there is a more serious problem with internal components. If you need help finding a qualified repair tech. in your area let me know.
Thank you,
Lee

My 32v434t television.

The TV was making the clicking noise and not turning on because an internal error was being detected.
Now things had got worse , and something had blown inside the TV.
The burning smell and high pitched noise is coming either from Flyback transformer or PSU board. Repair is a delicate matter and must be done by a technician.

ProScan PS32500 32"-Picture has white static line & Static/burning smell

It sounds like the circuit board is arching over somewhere. It could be as simply as cleaning and digging out the carbon mark to stop the arching. This is most likely the screen or focus voltage causing this, if there are no parts that have broken down. This will damage the printed circuit board and make things worse the more you let this cook. This could be dangerous for you to mess with because of the high voltage present, so my best advise would be to get this into the repair shop as soon as possible before this board burns up. It should not cost all that much if the CRT board can be repaired. Good Luck
