Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a sanyo M9978F stereo radio cassette recorder. It was dropped. Now I have a loud hum coming from my left speaker when I play a cassette. Its ok when I play radio. Just when the tape is playing.

Thanks for the response. I checked, and the only ground strap I found was still connected. Wouldn't that also affect the FM radio also? Would the heads being out of alignment cause this too? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

you can check the ground cable by opening the cassette player to check f the ground cable has pulled off.

When it pulls off, you will get a hum sound. So you can check if the cable has been bulled out. fix it back and the hum sound will stop.

Take care.

    Hi,

you can also check other electrical areas that high ground wires too,

you will surely find one that has removed that is causing that hums.

    Take care.

This is because the G Track's Mic signal is on the Left channel and the Instrument signal is on the Right channel. You are making a stereo recording when you should be making 2 mono recordings. Does Nicecast have an option to set the track to mono Left channel? Traktor should, but I haven't used it so I can't tell you where the option is. There's probably a Track Input drop-down or something like that.

You are probably connecting a stereo headset and this model only accepts a mono headset. You can get a stereo to mono adapter at Radio Shack for about $3.

Reorded tapes only play out one speaker

check your cables to the units channel that doesn't work, for breaks. Does the cassette player play back a pre-recorded tape okay? if it doesn't there might be a internal fault.
Check the wires to the tape head to see if one is off.
