Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV
If the points are light points and are coming up always in same place, then you have a faulty optical group.
The optical group (light engine) is probably the most expensive part in a rear projection TV. Depending on the fault, the part cost may be covered by the manufacturer.
The first thing to do is contacting Mitsubishi at the number listed on the owners manual, and asking them a quote on repair. If the problem is the light engine, I suggest complainining about the fact that no improper use of the set had been done, and that the problem is probably the consequence of a factory defect.
