Question about Panasonic KX-FL511 Plain Paper Laser Fax

1 Answer

I get the message in my LCD that flashes back and forth from: "27 New Calls" to the current date. Do I have to clear this out? How do I retrieve these messages? Are these fax messages? Can I still reveive faxes. I don't know what this means. Thanks. Art

You must first setup your remote access code. The remote access code lets you access the remote retrieval features when you are away from your machine. Before you use the remote access and retrieval features, you have to set up your own code. The factory default code is inactive (---*).

  1. Press Menu.
  2. Select Fax => Advanced Fax Operation or Remote Fax Opt => Remote Access.
  3. Enter a three-digit code using numbers 0 through 9, * or #.
Press OK.(The * at the end of the code cannot be changed.)

Do not use the same code as your fax receive code (*51(*91 for New Zealand)) or telephone answer code (#51(#91 for New Zealand)).

Press Stop/Exit.

You can change your code at any time by entering a new one. If you want to make your code inactive, press Clear/Back in Step c to restore the inactive setting (---*) and press OK.

  1. Dial your fax number from a telephone or another fax machine using touch tone.
  2. When your machine answers, enter your remote access code (3 digits followed by *) at once.
  3. The machine signals if it has messages stored in the memory:
    • 1 long beep = Fax messages
    • 2 long beeps = Voice messages
    • 3 long beeps = Fax and Voice messages
    • No beeps = No messages
  4. When the machine gives two SHORT beeps, enter a command.
*The machine will hang up if you wait longer than 30 seconds to enter a command.
*The machine will beep three times if you enter an invalid command.

To retrieve voice messages: Press 9, 1 to play Voice messages. After one long beep, the machine plays ICM(incoming message).

Hint After pressing 9, 1 to play Voice messages, you can also do the following:
  • Repeat or Skip Backward: Press 1 while listening to an ICM to repeat it. If you press 1 before a message, you will hear the previous message.
  • Skip Forward: Press 2 while playing the ICM, you can skip to the next message.
  • Stop Playing: Press 9, you can stop playing the ICM.

Press 9, 0 to exit the retrieval when you have finished. Hang up after you hear your Brother machine beep.To retrieve fax messages: Press 9, 6, and 2. Wait for the long beep and then using the dial pad to enter the number (up to 20 digits) of the remote fax machine where you want your messages sent, followed by ##.

  1. You cannot use * or # as dial numbers. However, press # if you want to create a pause.
Press 9, 0 to exit the retrieval when you have finished. Hang up after you hear the Brother machine beep. The Brother machine will call the other fax machine, which will then print your fax message.
Note If your machine is set to Manual mode and you want to use the remote retrieval features, wait about 2 minutes after it starts ringing, and then enter the remote access code within 30 seconds. This function may not be available in some countries.
Have a nice day.

Aastra voicemail

This Depends on your providers system . If yo go and retrieve your messages and hit 4 3 2 2 this will get you to nowhere you can record a message for incoming calls. If you want to change you message for when some calls you and you are on the phone you would do the same as above but hit 4 3 2 1. That is where you change your "on the phone message" never put a date in that one. Just record " hi I am on the phone at the moment please lease a message at the tone" Hope this helps

Need to retrieve deleted email from

Visit and log in to your Yahoo! Mail account. Click on the folder marked "Trash" on the left-control panel. View the folder's contents to see if your message is inside. If it is, place a check next to the message and click "Move To>Inbox." This restores the deleted message. If it's not, continue to Step 2.
Visit the Yahoo! Deleted mail retrieval page (see Resources). Click on the appropriate link to retrieve your mail, depending on which version of Yahoo! Mail you use. For New Yahoo! Mail, select "New Yahoo! Mail." If you are using Yahoo! Mail Classic, click "Yahoo! Mail Classic."
Type your name into the entry box, and then type your Yahoo! Mail user name. Select the date and time that you would like to roll your inbox back to. For best results, select a date and time 24 hours prior to the current time; this will improve the chances of Yahoo! being able to recover your deleted mail.
Type in a short message to give to the Yahoo! Mail account specialist, if desired. This is optional. If you'd like to describe your situation, feel free to do so, although it will not improve the chances of the specialist recovering your deleted mail. Click "Submit." Yahoo! will get back with you as soon as possible. You'll receive an email regarding the results of the email recovery.

My LCD Prostar 816 shows the Speaker light flashing rapidly. When I click on it, it takes me to an Internal Page screen. I can clear out of that, but I get the flashing Speaker light again. This happened...

Aflashinf speaker key indicates that the phone is fowarded. It's either call foward all calls or call foward on busy.
To cancel call forward all calls, press #11 (with the handset in the cradle), then press your own dss button or dial you own extension number (21-36), and press #.
Canceling call foward on busy uses the same steps but uses #12 instead of #11 for the first step.

It currently shows SENT 205V, How do I change it back

This actually happened on another phone also. Somehow, one phone picked up the fact that another phone had new messages saved on it. Thus phone extension 213 had send 222V on this LCD display. Once the messages were cleared off of extension 222, the original display of
CF-BN:213-850 and the DATE below, were displayed. So, I was able to clear it off in the same manner for two other phones. The only thing I don't know is how the voice messaging from one phone was tied into the other.
