First, drain the gas and put fresh in. Stale gas will not burn well. It may have varnish in the carburetor from the old gas as well. If you can get it to start (even if it's by spraying fuel in where the air cleaner is) it may clean itself out. If it runs but not well then, try a gum remover such as Seafoam or Gumout. Good luck, and next year drain the gas before storage or treat it with sta-bil.

Can not start the ms180 chain saw, tried new plug, new gas, starting fluid etc. suggestions ran this morning, and now will not start. only been used twice

Remove the plug and then plug into plug wire. With the spark plug laying on top of engine pull the recoil a couple times and you should see spark at the plug. If all is good and there is the proper mixture of gas/oil ratio in saw then >>With trigger depressed fully and choke on, pull until it fires and then shove the choke in. /////If no spark and the saw is new, I would return to retailer.

If this grand old lady were mine I would part with a few $(40±) for a tune up and and maybe an additional $20 if carburetor needs rebuild at my friendly neighborhood Stihl dealer. They perform pressure tests most homeowners cannot. An undetected air leak can destroy your saw. She deserves better.

Describe your Husqvarna "Chain Saw -

Remove the spark plug and test for spark. If ok, try some starting fluid in the plug hole, install the plug, and try to start. If it runs a short time, it is not getting fuel. Check fuel lines including inside the tank. Clean or replace the air filter. If this saw is fairly old, the carburetor probably needs a re-kit and cleaning. Does it have good compression? Check the muffler for plugging. Make sure the fuel/oil mix is fresh. Good luck!

ES335 wont start, fuse checked and oil present The black hand guard is upright I have tried to move it to check that it is in the correct position but no luck, I don't want to force it . The chain saw has...

I didn't know that chain saws had fuses? The black handle you are talking about is a chain break, push it forward allows the chain to drive, if chain break is back chain will not run around the bar, safety for saw kick backs.
If it will not start:
Check and see if it has fuel.
Is the switch in the on Position?
Do you have a fowl plug? is there spark?
Is the plug wire attached correctly?
Do you have fuel going to the carb?
Is your air cleaner, clean?
DO you smell gas, if so you have probably flooded it and now you will have to remove the spark plug and get rid of excess fuel or try starting the saw with the choke on.

Chain saw emitted sparks and now does not start.

Hi

When the engine get warm and die(I suppose)check the spark at the sparkplug. You can let the saw run until it ran out of gas and you will not distroy the engine.Change the sparkplug.
