Question about Computers & Internet
In the middle of a movie it died. Pressing power only: green power button light flickers, and light on new ac power adapter also flickers, then both die. No 'flashing codes' when Fn and Power pressed. Up until this happened a new battery was purchased. Prior to this final act the computer has been powering off by itself and on power up(POST) it asked that the F1 button be pressed to continue due to computer overheating it shut down.
Any suggestions on how to get it up and running again? Removed all CRU's except can't get modem off, plugged power in from wall but same reaction as above.
If you were getting the error message that the computer was overheating, you were lucky that it kept on going still . I would suggest to get the chassis fan replaced and then check. Most likely the chassis fan has died leading to the computer not starting .The extended overheating might even have caused a motherboard failure. As the AC adapter and power button light flickers
Thanks for using Fixya
