Question about NetGear : WG111 54 Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter, RETAIL (DSNGWG111)

1 Answer

Adapter not responsive

I recently purchased a compac desktop computer. I then purchased a netgear adapter(wg111.v3) so that we can connect to the wireless internet we already have set up. I ran the setup disk and the driver added to the pc....but the adapter is not working properly. It's not seeing my network, nor is it seeing any other network in the area. It actually doesn't even light up when I plug it in. I check to make sure it wasn't defective by plugging it into my labtop and it worked fine in that. I'm not sure where to go from here. I appreciate any assistance you may provide.
Thanks in advance!

First be sure to check the drivers for your Netgear WG111 are up to date and correspond to your Operating System. It is important to note that there are three versions of the WG111. If you visit the Netgear's Knowledge Base site you can see the difference between the 3 versions (v1,v2 and v3) and select the one that corresponds to you. If you don't know what version you have look for a v1, v2 or v3 after the model name:

moz-screenshot.pnglevega.jpg

After you determine which version you have, let suppose its v3, click the link corresponding to it and download the Software Version 2.0.0 (Supports Win 7) if you are using Windows or the WG111v3 Mac OS Driver Version 1.0.0.0 if you are using a Mac. Once you download the file, run the executable file and install the driver/software for your device.

If your problem is not with drivers then youshould look at you Wireless Network Setup. Please Check that the router has a source of a working internetconnection plugged in correctly via an ethernet cable. Also, routers need fromtime to time to be rebooted. Try disconnecting the router from the power sourcefor 15 to 10 seconds and connect it again.

Post more details concerning your OS, the router you are using and what type ofinternet connection you have(DSL or Cable).

You can download the software for this device from the Netgear web site.
You'll need to be able to figure out whether your adapter is V1, V2, V3, etc. as required from that page.

Netgear WG111v3 blocks access to epson RX500 USB printer

First uninstall the netgear adapter from the memory of the computer completely...
Because in case of this netgear adapter WG111 ... when u install it , it makes changes in the system files ...
That;s why when u connect the printer it doesnot recognise that ...
that's why uninstall the netgear adapter software in the Add remove programs and then restart your computer..

Try this and then revert back to me...
