Most likely you blew a thermal fuse, and usually that is caused by a bad high limit thermostat. The thermostat sticks and it gets too hot then the fuse blows. They come as a kit. They're not too hard to replace. Unplug it and take the back off. The two parts are on the side of the heater box located on the right side facing the back if memory serves me. Good luck.

Dryer wont stay lit

if the flame is liting most likely problem is bad air movement.go outside with thedryer running and check the hood to see how strong the air is blowing out,if there's a cage or anything blocking the hood remove it,if the vent line is a long run remove the vent line from the back of the dryer,stick a leaf blower into it and blow out the lint to the outside.also with the dryer unplugged,remove the bottom panel,remove the lint filter and metal duct the filter slides into,clean that out and blow out the blower wheel with a shop vac,you can blow out the gas tube where the flame ignites to make sure it's clean blow off the motor and the cabinet and vac up all lint that blows forwards.you can try running the dryer with the vent line removed to see if it runs any better.when the dryer first heats up the flame will come on until the temp. is reached and it will shut down,one more thing to check,when gas coils start to fail you'll have heat for like the first 15 to 30 minutes,then when the coils heat up the ignitor will glow but no flame,after the coils cool down they will work again.how are you running it on timed dry or more or less dry,if you run it on auto or more or less dry there's a sensor inside where the lint filter is,try cleaning it up or try running it on timed dry to see if it runs any different,when on auto the heat comes on,when it reaches temp. the heat stops and the timer will advance,when it calls for heat the timer stops and the heat comes back on,it will do this until the clothes are dry.your model has an even heat board in it that can also cause problems but if the flame is liting it sounds like you have a block somewhere.go here this will tell you a little more about your model dryer.

Whirlpool Cabrio Gas Dryer. Will heat for a short time then stops. usually gets stuck around the seven minute mark and wont move from there. Cothes are soaked. I checked all internal parts with multimeter...

Hello,
If what happens is the flame comes on when it first starts,after the flame goes off you see the igniter glows then goes off but no flame,the coils that open the gas valve are working while thier cool but once thedryer gets running,when warm to hot the gas valve coils wont open the gas valve so when the igniter comes on and no flame the coils have failed to open gas valve and need to be replaced, all manufactures use the same coil supplied by one parts supplier, and them not opening the valve when warm is a very common occurence regardless of what brand gas dryer it is.
The part number for the coils is 279834 they could be picked up from your local appliance parts store for under $20 or online at;

Even though it glowssometimes it is still not working properly. if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip.... If you have an electric dryer, you can have many differentthings that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat. check outthis electric no heat tip...

My whirlpool ultracare !! dryer will not heat. I have to dry things over and oer and over til they finally dry.

i looked up your model number and that's to a washer not a dryer.if it's a gas dryer it sounds like you have bad gas coils located on top of the gas valve.the coils work until they heat up like in the first 15 to 30 minutes and they shut down,when they cool they work again until they heat up and fail,this is why you have to keep running thedryer,one more problem could be the dryer needs to be cleaned out.clean out the vent line,clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and vac out the cabinet where the motor is

The dryer won't heat up. Model # DV328AEW/XAA.

check the motor if running? if running check the back ofyour unit when you see the exhaust pipe and clean it,and the filter inside thedryer clean it,if this one is ok.the sensor of your dryer or the heater is totally wort out,check the backof unit and look when place the heater?some model is easy to remove the heater at the back,just using screw driver,and easyto check,if the heater is continious coil it is ok,if split or broken replacethe new one,carefully to remove and carefully to return,make sure is the unit inunplug before anything to do.

Hi there. Our dryer turns on and blows air, but the air isn't hot. We are thinking we need new heat coils. Where would be buy new ones? Can we reinstall them ourselves? Thanks for any help! Angela

hi,as far i know every time running the dryer it is hot even the blower coz of the heater, and the blower if running is to remove the heat inside the machine.the common problem of the dryer is if no hot iar come out in blower exhaust,or check your filter in dryer i think this one is to much block of some cotton due to running for long time,just clean it every time after using for the long last of unit.
i hope i can help you.thanks

Kenmore 90 series Hi My dryer gets very hot in a short period of time and then turns off. Not on long enough to dry any clothes. The drum and the outside of the dryer is hot. Can you help? Thanks

Please note that if the HOT AIR that the dryer crteates is restricted from exiting the dryer because of a clooged up ventilation system or lint build up in the dryer, The ELEMENT will come on very rapidly and very bright which will eventually break the element. ALSO, please check to see if the element BROKE and as it broke it touches the stack. One way to test the ventilation system = hole on the wall to wherever the air goes outside, IS TO remove the vent hose from the BACK of theDRYER and run JUST ONE normal load to see if this works better. If all is good and the dryer works better, then your ventilation system needs cleaning. IF ALL IS STILL NOT OKAY, then check the interior of dryer to clean any LINT or as stated above, check the element
