Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that you might have a backlight and/or an inverter board issue with this TV set. It could also be due to the inverter circuits for the backlights. The inverter is the power supply source for the backlights. There could also be a screen driver problem; if it is then you have to change the entire inverter board. All this is only recommended if you have some kind of expertise for checking the internal circuitry of the TV as these units have high voltages running even when the set is switched off. The cost to change the inverter board including labor would be around $250, if you get this done by a professional. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Sounds like a bad inverter. They control the backlight to the screen. Check and replace, or contact a tv service tech.

1997 Pontiac Bonneville security light on, wont start till light gos out. Just makes a electrical contact sound but wont start till light gos out. Help Please!

You are seeing the beginning signs of a failing antitheft system. There are 3 parts to this system. The smart key, the ignition lock cylinder that reads the smart key, and the Theft Deterrent Module. (TDM) If any of these three parts are failing, you get a "no start" situation. Go to this link for a breakdown of the problem, and solutions to fix it.

When started from cold you get a knocking for 10 seconds then it gos

It sounds like an oil issue. The colder it gets, the thicker the oil gets. Its just taking a few seconds for oil to go to the engine. You may want to try a different viscosity of oil.

Dmax cobra 4wheel drive stays on we think we have no manual it stay 4l when we start it then light gos out

The 4wd is engaged with a selector on the front axle unlike the older freewheeling hubs. This selector is powered with vacuum (same as brake servo) and electronic valve's. The reason your light stay's on just a few seconds after you start your engine is because the vacuum is low. When you start your engine it builds up the vacuum and this release's the front axle. This is the new system and thats the way it work's. You don't have a problem.

sounds like your trans fluid is low, have your fluid level checked, whats happening is your fluid is going to one side of the trans , and not shifting until the fluid level returns to normal. you are probably two quarts low.

My tv goes blank with sound only.

tough call. from your decription it could be the tubes the pulsating. but if i had it in the shop i wwould first look at the convergence curcuit. the fact that the on screen display come up in colors inidcates convergence problems. you might have multiple component falure there. as for cost it could be diddicult to say. average repairs like this barring piture tube problem at my shop run 200 labor and about 150 parts. this is just for convergence cuircit rpair
