To replace the print cartridges
1.
Make sure the product is on and you have letter or A4 unused plain white paper loaded in the input tray.
2. Open the print cartridge door.
The print carriage should move to the far right side of the product. If the print carriage does not move to the right side, turn the product off, and then on.
3. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a print cartridge to release it. If you are replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the
slot on the left. If you are replacing the black print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the slot on the right.
4. Pull the print cartridge towards you out of its slot.
5. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging, being careful to touch only the black plastic. Gently remove the plastic tape using the pink pull tab.
6. Slide the new print cartridge at a slight upward angle into the empty slot. Then gently push on the upper part of the print cartridge forward until it snaps into place. If you are installing the tri-color print cartridge, slide it into the left slot. If you are installing the black print cartridge, slide it into the right slot.
7. Close the print cartridge door.
8. Close the print cartridge door.
9. Press the Scan button. The product aligns the print cartridges. Recycle or discard the print cartridge alignment sheet.

Hello ,

Start by opening your ink cover and read the LCD screen; this will alert you as to which ink cartridge is not being recognized; make sure the cartridge that it is telling you is empty has been changed.

  1. Unplug the power cord for the printer unit.
  2. Open the ink cartridge cover and remove all ink cartridges.
  3. Close the ink cartridge cover.

How do I change the toner?

The Fax-2480c does not use toner cartridges.
This is an inkjet and so uses ink cartridges.

There are 4 cartridges, black, yellow, cyan (blue) and magenta (red). If any of these cartridges are empty, you need replace them.

This machine takes LC-51 cartridges.
You're probably out of warranty so jsut get refills... it's cheaper

HP officejet pro 8500 ink cartridge problem

Changing a printer cartridge is not complex but improper handling of the parts may damage the printer and the cartridge. If the user notices that while printing the ink comes out dry or faded, it may be time to change the ink or the toner. The user will know if it is time to change the toner because instead of a sharp image, one will get a faded image. It is time to change the ink cartridge when the printing comes out spotty or colors are used to replace others —for instance, blue for black or yellow for red. Remember, faded images signal the need to change the toner; spotty printing signals the need to change the ink cartridge get more help for change cartridge .
Hope this helps you.
