Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T1 Digital Camera

White's are pink

When sizing up a picture, I notice that there seems to be a pink area in the centre of the screen. When taking a photo, all the whites turn out pink. I've tried playing with the red-eye, but that didn't seem to work..

any ideas?

    What is a CCD?

  • dkrizanovic Mar 28, 2008

I read up a bit on this, and it looks like a pretty important piece of the camera. Is it worth fixing, or is it better to just get a new camera?

    thanks for your thoughts.

I got the same problem and the images are extremely under exposed. The CCD will be quite expensive as it is an old model, I have mine for almost 4 years now. I would recomend buying a new one.

This FE-340 Olympus is a great camera. Lots of features and usually great results
  • Indoor pictures with flash set on auto WB (white balance) should not be a problem
  • Indoor pictures without flash requires setting the WB to match the light source in the room (incandescent, florescent etc) Outdoor pictures WB on auto generally not a problem
For more help Include a photo with the metadata of the photo from the image data file

The display screen appears pink before taking photos and films and after taking the photo the image captured is just white.

Is the camera still in automatic? (green camera logo) Or is it in scene, night shot?
If you put it to automatic, and it won't change anything, I'm afraid your camera is defect. Contact a certified Fuji repair centre, but before you send it in for repair, ask what it will cost you. because camera's are becoming cheaper and cheaper. Don't pay more for a repair than you would pay for a new camera.

Try to see If you can see a photo in Playback mode from your memory card (Transfer a good photo to the card first) Do all the menus display correctly? If so it would seem the camera sensor (ccd) is bad. Canon had a recall on these models with bad sensors and will repair them free of charge.

Reddish cast in photos, white objects look pink.

Hello dcmassey, the cause of the problem can be CCD imager. So, the best solution is to claim for Sony recall. If there is some other problem ask for the price estimate. Please contact the nearest Authorized Sony Service. Best regards, Arpi
