This tv is over 3 months (Christmas) old but was only put into service three weeks ago. 5 times a week for about an hour at the time. Wife's workout room videos..This spot is about the size of a nickel and with the blue background the spot shows as purle-pink. With the dominate green/brown background the spot will be yellowish..Any clues or am I screwed..
Sounds like the "purity" is off on your tv. This is caused by the
picture tube getting magnetized by a stereo speaker sitting too
close or by another object with a magnet. If there is nothing
magnetic near the set you may have to have the set demagnetized. A local TV shop should be able to do this for
you on a Carry-In basis while you wait, at a minimum price, but
call for an appointment first. This fix is for a direct view type set
only (using glass picture tube). Does not include LCD or Plasma
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I have the same TV which had the same issue ( green in picture ) - back on 10/2007. I called Sony. They had their technician replace the optical box ( factory defect ). There was no charge for the repair even though TV was out of first year of warranty. Call Sony.
The Xbox 360 is known for this. I would contact Microsoft as soon as possible.

You really need to be persistent. I went on the Panasonic customer support webseite and started a web exchange. The first two attempts ended with "call your local authorized service tech" , etc. The third time, I described the prolem again and asked if the authorized tech would have the tool to fix the eprom if that was the cause of the problem. They finally gave me a name for their scheduling department and said they would pay for the diagnosis. I was pretty happy about that, but even happier when they said that this was a known problem and they would pay for the repair as well. They scheduled a service call. The techs came and fixed the eprom error with their tool within 1/2 hour. That was about 5 weeks ago, and all looks good so far.
Hi--Bought my panasonic pt-52lcx65 on sale for $2200 in 8/05. Replaced the lamp for about $300 in 1/08, just prior to Superbowl. Admittedly, this was to be expected after family members watched lots of tv over 30 months. However, two months later the blue spot emerged in 3/08, and red spot emerged 5/08. Set looks decorated by a Andy Warhol or Van Gogh wannabe. I'm looking for a fix it solution. Dr. Bob Heiliger, Lebanon, OH.
