DO NOT CHANGE THE transistor power, you will blow the power pack. Check dust collection and correct CPU/fans speed in your bios

What do u look for on the mother borad when fixing rrod for xbox 360?

I recommend that if you have a warranty send the console to Microsoft for repairs.
But if you don't have a warranty and are determined to do it yourself, then you may proceed.
You have to look for these

two X-shaped pieces of metal are what try to hold the heat sinks onto the CPU and GPU. Problem is, they aren't springy enough to do the job. The heat sinks have a tiny amount of wiggle room, and the motherboard is free to warp from heat. That prohibits proper heat dissipation, and allows the processors to break away from their connections.

During power up the power indicator is lighted up but no video and no hard disk activity and stays that way

first remove your smps connector to the motherboard short the pin green and black and see wether the smps fan is working if working connect the connector remove the power supply of the hard disk otherwise it may damage the hard disk now remove the cpu fan and the processor from the socket clean the CPU fan and the processor and fix the processor to the socket apply a thin layer of heat sink solvent and fix the CPU fan firmly on the socket now remove your memory and wipe it clean with a dry cloth and fix it to the memory slot and switch on the computer

Try these....
Overheating problem in your PROCESSOR!
Check the temp in your BiOS and the setting of your processor!
Check also the power supply and upgrade it to hifgher wattage!
Clean your processor HEAT SiNK, dust and dirt might have acumulated!
Check the HEAT sink position, if its flatly fitted on top of procie, and scrape the old silicon paste between ur proci and heat sink and put a NEW ONE!

Encountered this kind of prob.. the prob is in the PSU unit(Power Supply Unit)!

These might help you!

1. the only way to know what breally has gone wrong is to open the enclosure & check. if the Ports has broken off fromm the PCB borad inside then ( if you are technically savvy) you can resolder it back. ( the disk has to be removed first) if not you have two option.

1. take a device to a repair shop.
2. buy a new enclosure & swap the disk

Blank Computer Shuts Down For No Reason

the old hard disk died a month ago and you got a new new one now rt? that means you were not using your computer for one month. So there is a chance of processor heat sink paste worned out and processor is getting hot. So you need to remove the heat sink and apply new heat sink paste and re-fix processor, re-fix ram sticks also.. make sure processor fan is working well.

if its still having problem, you need to check the SMPS...

Another reason, you need check to the compatibility of mother board with hard disk. That means, you need to check how much size of hard disk your motherboard will support?

I will ask that you do this, format your PC and this are the step if you don't know... Go to the control panel you will see backup and recovery, buy an empty disk backup all files, then format your PC and recover after. All will now be fine. check
