Dropped camera CASIO EX-Z1050

We dropped the camera today and now when we take pictures with overhead light or bright outside light we get feathery lines across the screen horizontally and the color is off. Works okay, apparently, in dark rooms with the flash. It dropped on the top left corner (from the back) just near the flashing power light (Red/Green)

Hi,

Initially I would suspect a hardware out of alignment. The camera still takes picture so there is a good chance that the CCD is still ok, might be off its designated position but electrically functional.

Unfortunately, this condition would require in-shop service with calibrating instruments. This is not a user workable problem. Sorry.

Pls likewise consider the cost of repair and the downtime. In most instances, it would be to your advantage to replace the unit. Again, sorry.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Camera taking wierd pictures

look for the reset to factory settings for your casio. i could also be the settings have been changed so more light is coming in the camera which explains your bright pictures. but the lines across ALL the pictures warn something of a CCD/Cmos sensor problem.

If the photo shoot out show white , the obscure (quality variation), and even horizontal line ( white lines), and so on over-exposure cases, even if the use of anti-tremor, set to default values are invalid, because the camera shutter fault.

Can't repair by yourself.
It's need repair camera machine shutter.

Multiple Problems

The zoom and power button are all part of one small assembly/circuit on the EX-Z1050. It sounds like this piece is faulty.
