Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 Digital Camera

1 Answer

MY Sony CyberShot will not connect to the computer. I've connected it succesfully before but now when I try to upload my photos the camera says "USB Mode Connecting...Switch on to [MENU]". I tried all 3 but it still wont connect. Sometimes it says "USB Mode Mass Storage"

Had same problem right now and want to post the solution! My wife gave me the wrong cable. It must be the original cable or have a little rectangular shapr object next to the end where the cable connects to the camera.

You've reached the point where you need to start using a separate card reader.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

An easy way to find out is to try another cable. Better yet, consider NOT using the USB connection at all.

My sony cybershot T2 is no longer recognized by any computer I connect it to via USB. But when I connect my sister's camera (also a T2), it works fine? please help

You may have a bad USB in your camera connector in your camera. Any repair shop should be able to repair for less than $50.00. Also check that you do not have a bad cable. You may also want to try on a different computer than yours. if it works you may have a driver or USB conflict with your computer.

How do U upload photosfrom my computer to my sony cyber shot DSC-S500

I'm not sure that you can upload photos from the computer to the camera. i have never seen a camera you could do that with. The only way you might be able to do it is if you are using a sony memory card in your camera and you took the memory card out of the camera and put it in a memory card reader connected to your computer. Put the photos from your computer on to your memory card and then put the memory card back in the camera.
