Question about Belkin (F5D7231-4) Wireless Router

1 Answer

I am using a Belkin G plus mimo 1D7E4E wireless router. A few months ago, it would lose connectivity and I would go to the Belkin page to get it connected again. Though, although the Belkin router is connected, my Apple computer keeps losing network connectivity every 5 or 10 mins - I go to Network in Prefs and click on airport and go through the assist me keys and get it connected, but it keeps happening again and again to my frustration even when I lock the changes in the little box in the left hand corner. Anyone know how to solve this problem? Any help would be much appreciated!!

Check to see if you have the router next to a cordless phone or microwave.
2. verify the configuration on the Belkin.
3. check for the current firmware.
Do the same for the Airport.
vary the frequency setting if you have cordless phones.

I Cannot set up my wireless G plus MIMO router !

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

Keep losing conection from wii to my belkin router

It's a wireless interference problem. To resolve that, you must change the router's wireless channel by logging in to the router's admin page http://192.168.2.1 you can change it under the Wireless tab. Set the channel to 11 and save the changes. Try to power cycle the router after that.

Belkin Mimo Router

If you're connected to the router with excellent stregth then the problem most likly lies in the routers connection to the internet. Check your DSL, Cable modem and make sure the connection to the "Internet" port on your router is good. Try switching out the Ethernet cable if nessciary.

How do I get the WEP key set on a Belkin G+Mimo

In the manual, located here, if you look starting on page 57 it shows you how to setup WPA2/WEP.

I would recommend WPA2 over WEP...for better security and easier setup, IMHO.
