Question about Canon PowerShot A520 Digital Camera
Time to change out the CR1220 battery that keeps the camera's time. It's located under the rubber flap on the left side of the camera (with the A/V and power inputs plugs). Just pry out its slide door with your fingernail, and take the little battery to your local drug store. It runs about $3 to $4 for a replacement.

I was very frustrated with this problem too! I changed my CR1220 battery and continued to have the problem. On closer inspection, I noticed that the contacts for the button battery were corroded. I hadn't expected or noticed it since the slot is so small. I used a scalpel blade and some rubbing alcohol to scrape and clear the contacts and it solved the problem. It works like new..
