Sounds like your ptc overload relay on the compressor needs replacing, they are not that expensive and easy to replace, simply by removing rear cover on the unit, removing the spring clip and unplugging the part off the compressor, then just reverse the procedure to install the replacement component

GE dryer dwsr463eg7ww timer isn't working and doesnt heat up

The heating element assembly warms the air before the air enters the dryer drum. If the dryer won't stop, it may be because the heating element assembly isn't working - which greatly increases the drying time. Check the heating element for continuity. http://www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/How-To-Fix-A-Dryer/7-3-850356-/GE-Dryer-won-t-stop-DWSR463EG7WW

Honestly, repairing and 8 year old AC unit (assuming parts are still available) can cost almost as much as buying a new one. If this is the first time you've had a real problem with it ... You've gotten your monies worth over the past 8 years. But, the decision is yours to make.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Not blowing cold air anymore

Possibly dirty evaporator coil or condenser coil. Maybe dirty filters. Also could be low on refrigerant charge.

Hi,my name is PK I have 5 tons Rheem air handling 10 year old. it is vertical type. How to fix the leak at evapolator coil. it leaked at the bottom right side. Can I use epoxy to seal this leak.Or replace...

Epoxy wont hold you need a new coil. about 8 to 12 hundred depending on your location. If it is 10 years old I would suggest you change the air handler. You will get a lot more efficient unit. Cost about 2200 but you will get a 10 year warranty from most manufacturers. Dont buy one unless you get a 10 year warranty. Russ

My system is running but not blowing cold air

It depends where the leak is. If its in the coils, you have to replace it. If the leak is easy to get to it would be cheaper just to fix it. So it all depends where the leak is. but 15 years is kind of old for a unit.

My refrigerator is not staying cold. The frozen food is thawing.

It can be repaired at cheaper rate by any electrician or costlier rate by Kenmore. But that would not stop the problem from occurring again. So it is better if a new fridge is purchased. Also the unit is 8 yrs old as mentioned.Hope this solves your problem. Please do post further comments if the answer is not clear or if the problem is solved. All the best. Please do rate my solution.thank you.

Ge refer not blowing cold

Hello mancoder,
Welcome

You said, your GE TBX 23Z refer has been working fine. moved it to assist in tile install. place back, plugged in starts to blow cool then after 2 hrs it blows room temp. It is clean dust free in under carriage and has plenty of air space. Fan blows very strong. I do hear a click and then 2 -4 seconds later another click. This continues every couple minutes. Sounds like poss the compressor is trying to engage? Not sure? It is older but a very nice unit and blows well, any ideas?

It sounds like the compressor to me!
in a fridge that is ten years old or more it is not worth the investment of putting good money in to bad.
The newer fridges use a lot less power and your utility bill will go down
It will pay for itself in only a few years!

Here is an article I just read that you may find useful and interesting!

Repair or replace?

When to pull the plug on your old refrigerator

It nearly always makes sense to undertake simple do-it-yourself repairs,
such as replacing a gasket on a refrigerator or a freezer.

Typically, you'll also find a troubleshooting section for more-serious problems
in the owner's manual.

Should you pay for a repair or buy a new model?
The answer depends mostly on the age of your refrigerator,
how much you bought it for,and the cost of the repair.

Follow these guidelines:

When a repair makes sense.

If your refrigerator is under warranty or less than four years old (three years for top-freezers),
paying for a repair makes sense.
Note that refrigerators under warranty might require service from a factory-authorized technician;
readers have found them on a par with independent repairers.

When a repair might be a wise choice.

If your refrigerator is out of warranty and is four to seven years old,
it might make sense to pay for a repair. Customers generally pay $100 to $200 for a repair.
But you might want to buy a new model even at this stage,
given that today's models are quieter and have added features.
Higher energy efficiency is another plus: Energy Star-qualified models made after April 28, 2008,
are 43 percent more efficient than conventional models built before 2001 and 56 percent
more efficient than those built before 1993.

When it pays to replace.

The repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new refrigerator.
Data also shows that it doesn't pay to fix a less-expensive top-freezer refrigerator
six or more years old or a bottom-freezer or side-by-side eight or more years old.

Thanks to better recycling programs, less than 10 percent
of a refrigerator you replace is likely to end up in a landfill.
