Question about Baxter OV300E Stainless Steel Electric Oven

Oven not staying up to temp when doing bagles

Posted by on

  • The link below is geared more towards residential ovens. If your oven is dropping more than 100 degrees below the set points then you could have a problem, most bagel programs have an airflow delay during which time the oven will not heat. Before the cooking cycle is over you should notice the temperature coming back up, if the temp doesn't come back up or the temperature displays start flashing then you have an issue with your burner or elements and you should have it serviced by an authorized technician.

When I light my oven, it stays on full all the time. Is it the thermostate

I'd recommend buying an oven temp dial to stick in your oven to verify the actual temp. Then you can turn on the oven using a lower setting and write down the temp for the setting. Then as you slowly adjust the setting higher and higher, note each temp. If it doesn't show a consistent increase of temp for each setting, you may need it calibrated or replaced. Good luck!

Oven sometimes doesn't stay up to temp

The temp is controlled by electronics that monitor the oven sensor.
The sensor should ohm out at 1100 ohms.
If it is shirted to frame or open the open temp would not do right and the
oven control would not know what the temp was and would probably declare an F-3 error.
In your case I don't think that is the problem. What i think it is going to be is the ignitor. If it is getting weak it sometimes won't draw enough amps to open the safety bimetal inside the gas valve.
Probably the ignitor is on it's way out.

Fan and light work, oven stays cold

one of three things are possible:either you are missing part of your 240volts at input power,or a bad neutral power wire to heating element,an oven temp control,or the thermocouple that controls oven temp

Oven turn's on, keep's heatings at a higher temp.

This is failed communication between the EOC and the temp sensors located in the oven. i recommend testing the EOC(break point test on the pins) for its operational value and the temp sensors as well. replace any component that doesn't register.

I would also inspect the oven temp sensors for welded harness and fouled housings.

In most cases, this will be a EOC issue.
