Question about Philips Magnavox 51MP392H Rear Projection Television
Our television is about 11 or 12 years old. It began making a popping sound about every 2 or 3 minutes... then it began to increase until it was constant and the screen went black. still have sound. Is this the Tube, and if so... is it very expensive to fix
Your problem is more likely to be in the high voltage fly-back transformer or HV tripler supplying high voltages to the anodes to your picture tubes these voltages range from about 20 to 40 thousand volts, replacing these components are relatively reasonable in price and depending on where you live will cost no more than about 300 dollars
