SOURCE: viewsonic n3251w - no power

A lot of TVs are having their power boards go bad due to a poor brand of capacitor (CapXon usually).

If small problems are noticed with the tv, the solution is to replace the capacitors. However, once the TV gets to the point where there is no power at all any more (not even a stand-by light) then the power supply has to be replaced.

Visit Viewsonic's website or call your local Viewsonic repair shop to get a price on this board. They are usually under $100.

SOURCE: westinghouse sk19h210s won't power on. service

I just fixed a neighbor's by replacing the 2200MFD capacitor on the power supply board. Thanks for the help, worked great. If you replace it got for a 16V instead of the 10V and hopefully it won't fail that way again.

Just be careful and take notes when you're digging into it. And mark exactly where the card cage is before taking it loose.

SOURCE: I have an RCA TV

The fact that the screen illuminates properly and does not stay absolutely pitch black means that the backlights are working properly.

A faulty LCD Controller Board (or TCon board for short) could possibly cause the symptoms you describe. The Tcon board is usually located under its own RF shield and will have a large braided steel multiwire cable coming into the bottom of the board and several flat ribbon cables connected to the top by little plastic flip up connectors. A replacement board can be purchased on Ebay for around $70 plus shipping. See the following link for one example:

http://cgi.ebay.com/LCD-CONTROLLER-V320B1-L01-C-RCA-L32WD12-/360142646595?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53da2cad43

Just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the item information at the website indicated.

Just don't buy any that say AS IS for their description of condition. That is EBay speak for broken.
Make sure they say TESTED FULLY WORKING in the item description.

The best way to be sure you are getting the right part is to open up your set and check the part number that is printed directly on the circuit board itself. Then look that part number up on the internet or type that number into the EBay search box.

Just typing in the model number of your TV will sometimes give you a few different part numbers so you have to confirm which part is in your particular set.

Make sure any part that you order online has exactly the same part number as the one you are replacing. Sometimes it it just the last few digits that are different and it can make a difference.

Falt screen tv has a white screen when I turn it on,audio ok,picture comes on after about 20 minutes, any ideas?

Good day!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

50 inch lg won't power on

Hi,

The problem could be just a few bad capacitors on the Power Supply, there could be a bad capacitor on the Y board if its bad it needs to be replaced with the buffers together
If you want to attempt the repair yourself you can do a visual of the power board caps will appear swollen on top.
The ones you are looking for are located almost center bottom of the power board,Usually I can see them clearly with the back on simply shining a light into the back through the holes
If otherwise you have to change the whole power supply board Power supply board just die.It can be dead at anytimes.Tries websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

I hope this will help in solving the problem...

Tv sound but no picture

The backlight inveter board may have gone out ,or the power supply is not working to supply power to the inverter board, those are the two places to look.

Does not turn on power suppy is ok

Hello there:
If you have already checked the fuse that is inside of the microwave and it appears or is known to be good than the circuit board that the fuse sits on is faulty or the sensor for the touch pad is bad
there are several capacitors that controle different features of this microwave and unfortunatly when one of these small capacitors blows it affects the whole board
the good news is that the board is replaceable normally around $50-75 dollars ok
hope that this is very helpfull for you
best regards michael

LE40R74BD VOLUME OK BUT BLANK SCREEN

sounds like the backlight is out, can you see a picture when shining a flashlight on the screen. if yes you have either a bad inverter power supply or bad screen (panel).
both are serious , also could be just a few bad capacitors on the power supply, if you want you can do a visual of the power board caps will appear swolled on top and are easy to solder in cost about $1 EACH

RCA DRC246N Power problem

I had this problem after only a few months of use! There were some bad capacitors on the power supply board. Replacing them fixed the player. They used cheap electrolytic capacitors on this unit; check them all while you have it open.
