my washer goes thru the regular wash cycle, then when it gets to the rinse cycle, spins out, then stops like its suppose too, door does not unlock, then it suddenly begins to refill with water (2 gallons or so) and "sud" appears and sits and

    ticks

I have the same problem, except mine does not refill. I had found coins in the coin catch area, removed them, and it drained for a load or two. Now, it does not drain again.

The machine goes through the whole cycle including spin, but the water does not drain. Is there a pump that pushes the water up? because if I take the drain pipe and lay it down the water empties - gravity. Thanks

If you're washer is working (water in-coming, then agitiating, but does not drain/spin at the "spin cycle"; the typical problem is either the door/safety switch or the electric water pump (belt drive machines). I would test the door switch for continuity; replace as necessary.

I would also recommend check your water pump for obstruction. Coins or other debris (necklace, socks, shoe laces, etc. can block the impeller inside the water-pump and prevent draining.

The water pump can be accessed through the outside bottom or rear access panel(s). The pump should be electric, white plastic with 2 black hoses connected to the pump (Tub to pump and pump to rear drain hose). I would disconnect the larger black hose that leads from the tub/drum to the pump, then insert my finger into the water pump and remove any obstruction, while rotating the impeller manually (small rotating fan type feel).

Caution: Disconnect power before servicing. Also, any sitting water in the unit may pour out when disconnecting the hose; you may want to relocate the washer to an outside area. I would recommend to cover the pump or other electrical components with plastic to prevent water from getting on them. Be sure to hold-on to the hose and direct the water flow outside the washer cabinet when disconnecting the hose; as a decent amount of pressure and water flow may come flowing out.

All the sudden our frigidaire front load washer will not spin, what should I do

typical problem for front load washer is that it stops when it comes to a rinse or spin cycle.there is something blocking the drain pump.in order to drain all the water out of the washer the best way is to use a wet dry shop vac.
attach the vaccum to the end of the drain hose and remove all the water.
once the water is removed the door should unlock.then you can access the drain pump from either the front or rear panel depending on the model you have.some models will have a access panel on the front to check to drain pump however if you do not see anything in the pump.
then the obstruction is in the part of the drain hose that leads from the bottom of the tub into the drain pump.if there is no obstruction found then you need to check the wiring and make sure it is securely attach.
last thing when all else fails replace the drain pump. There times the door lock mechanism has failed

Miele dish washing machine no drain and it sudden stop after flushing the water

If the machine does not drain, then follow th suggestions below:

It won't drain If your washer won't drain, check these:

It spins, but doesn't pump
It doesn't spin or pump
It pumps, but the water returns
It spins, but doesn't pump If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out.

To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port.

Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator, top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job.

If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump.

It doesn't spin or pump If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it.

It pumps, but the water returns If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back into the machine after the spin cycle, your washer may be siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain, back into the washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is something stuck in the drain?) Also, check for these problems:

  • If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess.

  • If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

Washer fills/agitates and stops prior to draining

If pump works fine or still pumps out water, then it is a timer malfunction. Replace the timer and you should be fine. To locate a part number for your timer, refer to www3.sears.com with the model number off your washer.
