Black smoke is unburnt fuel. Whether it is poor spark, bad gas, etc. Also make sure your oil level is not over full as this can cause it to blow by the rings and foul the gas.

Why wont mower run after being run with too much oil in it

single cylinder four stroke engines and to much oil is a recipe for breaking things internally. Piston comes down tries to compress uncompressible oil and excessive pressure breaks one or more items. If it did run and just stopped without any dramatic bang or clattering of broken parts you may just need to completly drain it, refill to the correct level, replace the spark plug and check the air filter (may have puked up oil and clogged the filter....even laying the mower on the airfilter side will do this.

if its a two stroke mower and you put in to much 2 stroke oil. Drain the fuel, remove the spark plug, cover the lead (so you dont ignite fuel with a stray spark), pull the handle a few times to clear out the cylinder. Clean and replace plug, put in correct fuel oil mix, check airfilter is clear and it should live again.

Overfilled lawn mower and now it is will not start.and when i try to start it it start for 2or 3 sec and stall out and oil come out of the exhaust.

Overfilled with gas or oil? More in likely you tilted your mower over to far to the air fllter side. The oil has soaked your air filter with oil. Change the airfilter and wipe spark plug off.Once it fires up it will smoke untill it burns the oil out carb. Remember never lean mower to air filter side..Good luck

Keeps fouling plugs

If the black deposits on the sparkplug are dry and fluffy then your problem will more than likely be a blocked or restricted airfilter. Your airfilter should be the sponge type, wash it in a soap water solution, dry it thoroughly then apply clean engine oil to the filter, squeeze it through then squeeze out the excess in a dry clean cloth. This will leave a fine residue of oil to trap any particles of dust. A heavy residue of oil in the filter will cause the problems you arte experiencing.
If the black deposits are wet and oily then either the sump is overfilled or the piston rings and cylinder are worn.

Compression lockup

Remove spark plug. Pull rope several times to blow out cylinder. Spray WD 40 in spark plug hole. Pull rope several times. ensure compression is present. Replace spark plug with new one. Spray starting fluid in cylinder before replacing spark plug. Ensure plug wires snaps on tight. Check oil level, fill with 30w oil if required. All mowers have a low oil start cutoff. Clean or replace air filter.

Tractor will not start unless you poor gas into the carburetor. When it dose start it let out a small cloud of white smoke I have changed the fuel filter, spark plug & air filters on the tractor. It has...

It sounds as if your carb. needs cleaned, the fuel line is obstructed or the fuel filter is stopped up. All of these will prevent fuel from moving throught the carb. to the engine.

Yes, if your air cleaner is dirty it will cause the condition that you talked about...flooding.
You need to either replace or clean your airfilter.
The following is for the foam type air cleaner.
Normally if you clean your filter, you would wash the air filter in a cleaner such as kerosene or diesel fuel, dry it, add a little bit of oil to the outside of the sponge filter and squeeze it to distribute the oil around the filter.

Toro Lawn mower running rough/usually won't start/backfires

You need to check a few things. The spark first, you need to check if it is running correctly, does it have spark, by doing this: take out the spark, put it against a metal surface and pull the pull start if it spark, your good if not you need a new spark plug. Clean out your airfiilter it migth help too. Buy some carb and choke cleaner squirt it up theough the airfilter hole, and start the engine, this will clen the carb. yOU MIGHT NEED TO TAKE OUT THE CARB AND CLENA I OUT THROUGHOULY!!! Try that and it whould work after all these steps!
IN your problem it might also be for some reasons like the crankshaft is bent, that damages the motor internally and cannot be fixed, hppens on older mowers. and is caused by when you run over twigs and branches andything hard!

Oil leaking around drain plug? Or overfull?

Check the oil in the engine, see if it smells like there is gasoline in the oil. Black smoke would indicate a fuel burn issue, which means there could be a rather dominant presence of gas in the oil pan. This is more common than you might think in an engine that has sat for a while, the gas becomes varnish and causes the float in the carb to stick, allowing the gas to run through the engine. The thinned gas could also be causing the leaking around the plug.

If this is the case and there is gas in the oil (the two smell nothing alike, so it's easy to tell if there is fuel in the oil), then you want to start with cleaning the carb out, making sure the float is not sticking. You'll also need to drain and replace the oil and likely clean the spark plug from where the oil can get into the engine head.
