Question about GE Profile PSW26P Stainless Steel Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

My ge profile refrigerator won't cool on the refrigerator portion and the freezer portion just melted. What is going on with the refrigerator and how do I get it to work? Is there a way to reset it? Also, the light stays on when the refrigerator door is closed. It is now 67 degrees inside the refrigerator. I unplugged it hoping that it would reset. How long should I allow it to remain unplugged, or will that make no difference?

GE Profile temperature going up and down

One of four problems,

1: this box has two sensors in the freezer... one on the top of the evap and one on the bottom left side of freezer cabinet (little small round white things) in the back lower portion of the freezer. These have been know to go bad and cause this problem.

2: you have a defrost problem caused by a bad main board or bad defrost heater.

3: you have a evap fan going bad on you, quits when frig gets to right temps. in other words the fan doesn't like the extreme colds,

4: door gaskets are leaking air around doors.
